Misty Mount Resort

Really good breakfest and family was friendly and helpful.

This cosy and welcoming guesthouse is amazing value. The family who host are very kind and attentive. The room was great, a good size and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is very new and clean as well. The included breakfast was delicious and healthy. The place is a bit away from the main street so is nice and quiet, surrounded by trees which even had monkeys visiting. There is a laundry available, which I didn't need to use. The host lady is wonderful, and her lovely daughters are available for any extra help with translation.

It would be nice if the water was a bit hotter - it was warm, which was fine for a place with such great value, but maybe one day a new hot water system would be good :) The walk from the main street is not far, but the hill is a little bit steep. This is fine for most people, but for people with limited mobility this might be a drawback. That said, tuktuks drive past the front steps about every 30 seconds!

Wonderful family! Exceptional breakfast. A 5-10 minute walk into Ella town so you get a bit of a break from the chaos.

We had a booking for 9-11.01. 2 days before our arrival i got an automated message from booking.com that the host may canel our booking due to lack of payment. I contacted the person (as the payment was in cash only) and the host confirmed our booking. An hour before our arrival to Ella (7.30 pm arrival) the host contacted me by watsup and asked us to choose a different hotel as they had water issue. We were told to go to Magnet and pay 8000 lkr which is the price we would pay in our hostel. It turned out that 1. There was no breakfast (which was included in our original booking) and 8000 lkr was for 1 night not 2. In the end we paid 10 000. Next day (Staff from Magnet spoke with our host) we were told that we could come over to Misty mount resort as now they had a room available...i think that our hostel simply overbooked and used 'water issue' as an excuse to get rid of us without cancelling the booking.

Truly a local experience. Sweet family, excellent breakfast.

The lady was very helpful and friendly.

I really enjoyed my one night stay here. The host family were very kind. The breakfast in the morning was lovely.

The room is basic but the bed was very comfortable and a large washroom.
