The Annex

Lovely house right on the riverbank of the Exe, so fantastic scenery. It was raining and foggy whilst we were there but I imagine in better weather the scenery would be fantastic. Great pub for meals and drink literally 2 minutes walk away which is also on the river. House itself was a lovely old place with real beams. Comfortable beds, nice living room with TV and electric heating. The kitchen was great and though we only had tea and coffee, it looks like you could cook yourself a nice meal with the facilities. We liked the little touches like board games, dvds, and the honesty box for crisps and beer. There is plenty of car parking next to the place with cakes available from the Ginger Pig (another honesty box system). Fantastic place to stay. Would definitely stay again. Well done to John et al!

Be careful coming back from the pub at night. There are street lights, but the road is narrow with no footpath.

Beautiful setting by the river, bedrooms were spacious. Hot chocolate station is a lovely touch.

Dark path at night time coming back through the gate. Sensored lights didn't pick up movement quick enough. This meant it was hard to navigate from the gate to the door. It may be helpful to have further lighting in the winter months or perhaps provide a torch? . This is respectful suggestion. Otherwise the stay was lovely thank you.

The cottage is very cosy and sits right on the river. The hosts are lovely and provide so much to make the stay as comfortable as possible. It's a really beautiful spot and the cottage feels like home.

Its location was wonderful. Traffic a bit noisy but the scenery was beautiful
