Hostal Casa Moreno

The pool was really nice and the rooms were good for the price you pay.

The staff could have been a lot more approachable, we felt them very rude and no way accommodating.

Nice place, well maintained, green, murals and good swimming pool, small veranda in front of the room. When we had a problem with the bathroom, we could switch rooms. Possibility of ordering breakfast.

Friendly staff, but a bit of a passive vibe. Don't rent your scooter/motor through the hotel, because we had a lot of difficulties with getting our deposit back (friendly guy, but the website doesn't function properly, which resulted in texting and waiting for the money for 3 days, and in the end paying 3 times the price).

Close to the dock, staff were friendly and accommodating. Meals were delicious, pool was fantastic

Area was noisy with cats and dogs fighting through the night.

Art look of building was unique.

You had to pay extra for a fan and a/c. No guest soap and/or shampoo. No complimentary water and/or coffee.. Breakfast was not included.

The pool was nice and clean and a nice area to sit.

Rooms were a little run down and in need of some TLC, we only had fans, and in the intense heat, there was no air flow, therefore the room was extremely hot.

The room was spacious with good storage facilities. We enjoyed the outdoor space, taking advantage of the hammocks, pool and sunny spaces to dry clothes.

The bathroom felt a little overlooked as it wasn’t possible to close the window which was in view of the staircase

They canceled our room and we didn't even get to stay. They sent an email, but message was very misleading as it stated on top of the email that they were ready for our arrival. Their message was hidden way below the email. As I did not read it, when they said they had canceled our reservation. We traveled by ferry to stay 2 nights and 3 days to find out we had no room. We had to find something else on our own when we left Hostal Casa Moreno. Took us a while to find something as everything seemed to be booked elsewhere. We finally found a vacancy but ended up paying doubled of what we originally booked for. I will never go there again and I am even thinking of switching to xpedia or another hotel site. Staff member didn't seem to care about our situation all she wanted to do is proved that they sent cancelation and didn't even offer us any suggestions of where else to go. We were pretty much stranded in an island. (Literraly, Ometepe Island)

It clearly states online to add A/C is only $10 for your entire stay, upon arrival and after arguing about it became $13 USD per night, what a ripoff. The entire stay had over 5 workers outside our door working on the garden loudly with tools or someone outside playing loud music. I had to ask for a bedsheet upon arrival after check in and it takes 15 minutes to even get hot water from the kitchen downstairs to make coffee in our room, just not worth it.
