Paskins Town House

It was fairly good value for money, and walking distance to centre and attractions.

The room was on the top floor, with steep narrow stairs, very hot ( fan was provided) with shared bathroom which door was very very noisy. There was only 2 plug socket in the room.

Lots of stairs (given the type of building).only minor suggestion - doors needed oiling . They were very squeaky in a quiet place

Absolutely disgraceful experience — avoid at all costs. We booked two rooms and at 11pm found ourselves locked out with no way in. What followed was five hours of complete abandonment by this hotel’s staff. Over 20 calls to the out-of-hours line went unanswered. We sat in the reception area until 4am — not a single member of staff appeared, not a single callback was made. We were left stranded in our own hotel with nowhere to go. At 10am the following morning, a cleaner finally let us into our room. We had no choice but to check out immediately. To make matters worse — not one apology. Not one phone call. No acknowledgement, no refund, no gesture of goodwill. Nothing. Complete silence from management even after checkout. This isn’t just poor service — it’s a total failure of basic duty of care. Guests locked out at night with zero emergency support is a safety issue, not just an inconvenience. I would not wish this experience on anyone. Stay elsewhere. Booking date 26/05/26 room 3 and 18

Staff, location

Maintenance, cleanliness seems to have gone down a bit since my previous stay. Hopefully things will turn around.

Friendly welcome. Cosy room, comfortable bed and pillows, slept well. Room temperature was fine despite record breaking heat wave. There was an issue with ants in the bathroom but this was quickly and effectively resolved.

I was disturbed by noise on a few occassions quite late by peolpe coming and going and using the stairs. I appreciate that there is little that could be done about this and it was not too bad. Room servicing was attended to the second day but then seemed to stop after that. Had to rinse my cup out in the bathroom sink to re-use it - not too much of a bother but would have expected this to have been replaced by housekeeping.
