Crab Hall (an annexe of Bagdale Hall) is a superb property; a few minutes walk from Whitby Town centre - the harbour, hop on hop off bus, restaurants etc. The room was huge; four poster bed (as described), plenty of tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate in room, large (ish) bathroom. Evening meal and breakfast were tasty; though would have appreciated the option to have a latte or cappuccino instead of just tea and coffee at breakfast (we would have paid but was told no). Though we were in an annexe and had to walk across to main building for our meals, this wasn’t a problem. In fact, it worked to our advantage. Much quieter and therefore relaxing being separate. Would thoroughly recommend!! Staff friendly and helpful. We arrived early and was able to park the car and go and explore the town until the room was ready. In fact, we didn’t need to touch the car until it was time to leave. If we were to return to Whitby, we’d certainly return here.

The bed! Creaked (loudly)at every movement. If one rolled over, the other woke up. Four poster looked good, just wasn’t practical. Little things like the handle to flush the toilet was very loose, a light bulb was out by the dressing table/desk type which made it difficult putting on make up etc. Asked if we could have a latte or cappuccino at breakfast and was told ‘not available at breakfast’. Which was a shame. That said, these are all very minor things. Still had a great time and still a great place to stay.

The room was clean and a great size . Breakfast was excellent. Location fantastic.

Was expecting to stay in the main hotel . Rather disappointed we were in the bedrooms round the back so we didn't get the lovely feel of the whole experience as it showed be on my booking.. felt a bit cheated. Bar closed quite early too. So all we can rate is the room and the breakfast.

Location was perfect, breakfasts were excellent, our room was very spacious & comfortable with a four poster bed.

Sadly unable to try the restaurant as their was no chef due to an injury. Although the hotel had been trying, it's best to find a temporary replacement. Our bathroom was a little tired, i.e. black mould in numerous places in the shower, which was also rather small for even the smallest person.
