Undeniably picturesque. The location is great for walking straight from the hotel.

It being advertised as a plant-based hotel we were expecting a breakfast feast of grains, nuts and fruit but we were very disappointed by the unimaginative food that was on offer. Whilst basically clean, much of the hotel is scruffy. For instance the seats in the dining room are grubby and one pillow on the bed smelt awful and should be replaced. The bed linen and towels were tired. The door to the rooms could have done with a coat of paint as could the room in which we stayed. It being a dog friendly hotel expect to be kept awake and woken up by yapping pooches. We felt that the hotel traded on it’s location and it’s unadventurous plant based and doggy credentials and did not represent value for money.

The hotel itself is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food - wow! The breakfasts were delicious, what a great start to the day! We didn't have lunch there but the evening meals were incredible. We wished we'd booked to stay longer but will surely return again soon! Our room was lovely, and I slept better than I have in ages, and I normally rarely sleep well the first night of anywhere I've stayed. The fresh air probably played a part, too, as the vicinity the hotel is in is beautiful. I can emphasise enough what a wonderful hotel this is.
