The check in was really easy, location really good. I like that its so central. Its s a music pub and that didn't bother me. Good food, and generally a sound bet if you are looking for a good value bed and breakfast.

TBH this is no reflection on the place or the staff, but the conversation on occasion can get a little rowdy. I think some people maybe stay in the bar way too long and the staff handle it well but could be a little stronger when people are being rude.

Staff were fantastic. Room was clean but a little dated.

Upon arrival we were informed that they have live music every Saturday night. Rooms are above the bar. Earplugs are provided! This needs to be made clear when booking. The staff had an opportunity to inform me of this fact as I rang earlier in the week to check about parking arrangements. We booked as we were running half marathon next morning and were looking for an early night and a good nights sleep. The music vibrated throughout the room, and the bed ! and every conversation of the people leaving at 1am could be heard due to the single glazing windows. We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal, and the menu looks very good. Our starter did not arrive. Our main courses then arrived and I pointed out that we had not had our starter yet. I agreed that it was ok for them to bring that anyway (black pudding scotch egg) to have alongside my mixed grill. This arrived within 5 minutes and was the driest hardest boiled egg I have ever attempted to eat. The steak was cooked well but every other bit of meat was dry and cremated and looked like it was left over from the lunch service. It was obvious that the oil in the fryers needed changing probably three weeks ago as the chips tasted bitter and acrid. Our other main meal was salmon and pasta. The sauce tasted unpleasant and the salmon was dry and overcooked. We returned all the dishes and to be fair the waiter was incredibly apologetic and we were not charged for our meal, and the waiter stated that this was not up to their usual standards. As a result my wife sustained an upset stomach for two days. In summary. The staff are great, just don’t book to stay on Saturday evening and don’t eat at the restaurant.

Ideal spot, middle of town, great staff, room is well equipped and very nice. (Room 11). You can get food too, but I had to go out so no time for dinner, menu looks nice. Fakenham is anice town, not too big but evryhting you need, looks good for a weekend break.

Needed a veggie breakfast, not a place you get one, but cereals are available but I cant because i am diabetic. Noise will be excessive for the work going on outside, no mention. Be nice to know when this finishes. No onsite parking, maybe why it was cheaper. Carparking £6.50 overnight is good value, 100 yds from the hotel.

did not realise it was a hotel/pub and had live music directly below our room. tied building paid for breakfast but due to an early leave, could not accommodate us.

Breakfast in general is good. Well cooked

A shame they don't have a Coffee machine for breakfast, not even filter coffee or french press... only sachets . with all honesty it is the 1st hotel in several countries that Ive been that dont have coffee... A very loud alarm from a shop nearby goes off at 2 am every single night, waking everyone up. This happened during two different stays.

Lovely clean rooms, comfy beds, great location, amazing cooked breakfast in the morning and lovely staff. Would 100% come back/recommend
