Coast Path Camping

Slightly overpriced, it would have been good to have had a fridge / cooking facility but apart from that it’s perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous Shepherds Huts in a wonderful location. The bed was super comfortable and warm and the view was spectacular! The lady running the place is sooooooo lovely, really friendly and helpful. There's a kettle with free tea/coffee and good toilet/shower facilities. The local pub, The Brook Inn, has fab food. We were even treated to a lightning show in the evening!

Everything was good!

The campsite had lovely views and lots of space. The bed was comfy and there were nice touches like tea and coffee.

Nothing- the facilities were basic but everything worked and was clean.

It was a really quiet place, relaxing and a great location for walking the coast path.

The huts had not been cleaned very well, the roof inside was wooden with steel straps which had lots of cobwebs on them. Also under the bed was a storage area which was full of spiders webs it clearly hadn’t been vacuum for some time. We sort of expected some insects and possibly spiders when you stay in a place like this but when it got dark we had at least four spiders come out of the ceiling/ roof. The spiders as well were false widows which although I am not an arachnophobe I didn’t want to share my sleeping compartment with them so I had to catch them and throw them out! The strangest thing was the toilet and shower facilities, two cabins both with urinals and cubicles neither were marked male or female. So in theory a guy could be standing at the urinal with a female in the cubical directly behind so a potential awkward meeting point! The shower arrangement was two outdoor showers which were home made from IBC water tanks which was ok but the indoor shower was in one of the toilet blocks right behind the urinals so in theory again my wife could have a shower and a man could be outside the door using the urinal!

A Shephed’s Hut is simple accomodation and this is what we had. Pleasant, dry and basic.

While the washing / showers / sink were available and adequate, a little more thought could have gone into their management. On a practical note, one of the WC cubicles has a waste pipe that runs across the front of the entrance door. Probably best to reroute pipe. A tea towel would have helped to do washing up.
