Royal Arkadia Villa Uluwatu

Royal Arkadia Villa is visually stunning—modern, clean, and the private pool area is a tranquil retreat. Crucially, the staff is excellent and hyper-responsive, sending help immediately every time we called, which truly salvaged our experience.

The villa has incredible potential and a top-notch team. Once the major systemic problems (electrical voltage and water supply) are permanently fixed, this will easily be a 10/10 property. We recommend it for the luxury and seclusion, but advise future guests to be aware of these current technical "teething" issues.

De locatie

De badkamer was vreselijk. Geen goede straal en vies. Ook allemaal vliegen in de badkamer omdat er een opening was. Na 2 dagen aandringen een nieuwe kamer gekregen. Dat was wel netjes, maar ook daar was de badkamer een onvoldoende (vliegen en vies).

The villa could benefit from some maintenance. There are a few cracks on the walls that might need attention. The roads leading to the villa from Uluwatu center were dark, so if you have to walk, it might feel a bit unsafe. However, as more villas are built in the neighborhood, this might improve in the future. Additionally, we experienced a long power outage that lasted almost the whole day. It might be helpful to have some candles on hand or even a backup power generator for such occasions, especially if the outage extends into the evening.

On the positive side, the staff are very kind and helpful, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pool is lovely! With some major improvements, this could be a great place to stay in the future.

This villa is advertised as a luxury stay on their website. But it doesn’t live up to that promise. The location is okay, but the driveway is gravel and surrounded by ongoing construction, which makes the villa quite noisy. I appreciate them telling us this before arrival, but I didn’t realise we would be in the middle of a construction site. Only a few villas are completed, and the build quality feels very poor, with things already starting to deteriorate. During our stay, the power went out numerous times, the kitchen tap barely produced water and had an unpleasant smell, and there was no air conditioning in the kitchen, which gets very hot. The bedroom air con also struggles to cool the room properly. The bathroom was dirty and the water smelled like sewage. The Jacuzzi bath was too dirty to bath in, and shower heads are so low you can't properly stand under them.

When you stay here, you're in for some breathtaking views. The villas themselves are spacious and luxurious, beautifully designed, offering plenty of privacy, and super comfortable. You'll find the staff here super attentive, really warm, and they genuinely go out of their way to make your stay feel personalized and special. It's a wonderfully tranquil and private spot, perfect for just chilling out and relaxing. Oh, and a big plus is that the units come with complete kitchen utensils, which is super handy!

On the flip side, the remote location means you'll probably need a taxi or scooter to get to attractions or beaches. Also, compared to bigger resorts, there might be limited on-site facilities here. Given the natural setting, you might occasionally encounter insects, like mosquitoes. While generally well-maintained, there can be occasional minor maintenance issues, and the Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit inconsistent, which might be a slight hassle if you need a strong connection for work or streaming.
