I have to admit that previous ratings made us nervous for the trip, but everything was rather nice. Day time around the area was really quiet, not much movement and seemed safe. The apartment was clean, contacting the owner was super easy and the response was really fast (we just asked for some cleaning supplies). Nice working fridge, washer, dryer and central AC Shower with nice preassure and water temp

There's a couple of bars like a block away so some nights were kinda noisy, we didn't really mind (especially because of the price point) but the noise could be a problem for other people. Thin walls and ceilings, the upstairs person could be heard walking really easily. But again, I think I was a good deal for the price

We did NOT like the property

We were unable to stay more than a few minutes at this property. The listing is VERY misleading. The neighborhood is rough which we were willing to overlook but anyone interested in reserving this listing should know that this is a low income housing unit that was converted to apartments and badly maintained. There is water damage, warped floors and visible black mold in multiple places which could be smelled immediately upon entry. The walls and ceilings are thin and the family upstairs walking on the floors created constant creaking and thuds that made any sense of peace a remote possibility. There was an air purifier running in an attempt to cover the mold smell, and it’s apparent that someone tried to spackle and paint over water damage which the mold was already coming through. The pictures online are a clear misrepresentation as it lists this as an up and coming neighborhood. There was no fire pit outside, graffiti all around the outside of the property and several homeless people sleeping on the ground just outside the metal gate to get in. It is not safe to walk outside of the gated parking lot. After about 15 minutes inside the damaged unit we started having issues breathing as the air felt heavy and the smell started to make us feel sick. We immediately left and reported the unit to Booking.com but they kept trying to get us to get the property owner to “resolve” the issues. The only resolution would be to shut this listing down for intensive repairs and inspections until the city health department deemed it fit for human habitation.
