The location is great. Near to the subway, buses, and most places are 15 mins away by car. There are all types of businesses including banks, a Home Goods, Target, fast food restaurants within 5 mins walking distance. For a place in Brooklyn it was extremely quiet and I had a wonderful night sleep. Crystal was a great host, very friendly, welcoming accommodating and knowledgeable. Crsytal Chateau is beautiful, homely, cozy, well maintained and extremely clean place.

A bit pricy for a shared space, but that is Brooklyn.

The host was very kind and accommodating, making us feel welcome from arrival. We were free to come and go as we pleased from the property and had access to all required facilities. The room was comfortable and had everything we could have asked for, would come back again.

We had big trouble at arrival - still not sure if this was fault of booking.com or the hotel. We booked 10 days prior our stay,paid and immediatelly recived info, that hotel is looking forward for our stay (but the hotel did not know about it, it was automatically generated). When we arrived, no one was expecting us, no one took the phone, we were left alone at night on the street. After 20 minutes, owner appered at the door and yelled at us that booking.com charged us too chep, like if it was our fault. They told us to pay 100USD more (for 3 days) or we will have nowhere to sleep (it was already 9pm), they were very upleasnt to us, behaving like we did something bad to them. At the end, we decied to pay this, because altogether, it was still good price for New York and it was too late evening. Again - we still dont now, maybe it was fault of booking.com, but the encounter was very unpleasant. They told us they did not even expected us and we were lucky that one room is free. So far the worst booking experience we had (but so far we traveled only across the Europe). We do not recomend to book this hotel via booking.com. Either booking.com works really bad in us, or this hotel does not know how to work with booking.com. We are still trying to put formal complain to booking.com, but little success. Important to note- rest of the stay was fine.

The location about 8 minutes walk to a subway station with a 40 min journey to Times Square and the cost, which was low by the standards of New York City. The owner was friendly.

The towels provided could have been more generous- we had one large and one medium size towel for two people. A waste/trash bin could have been provided in our room.

It was clean and quiet and peaceful. Safe neighborhood. Nice enough place to stay for two nights, well priced for Brooklyn in September. Bring your own towels!

Simple things such as a blanket on the bed and towels. I had to ask for (and getting them was not easy, although they finally did). But was left with two towels not much larger than a dish rag (which there were none of those either). Spent first night with no blanket. Just a top sheet. Luckily I found some sort of light duvet cover in a cabinet which was paper thin, but better than just a top sheet. It all worked out in the end.
