A proper traditional pub with no frills but hearty grub and great local ale and cider. A step back in time - don't expect it to be like a Premier Inn.

A really unique place. Great location wonderful meal & a super friendly welcome.

That we had to leave.

Our host was a kind, intresting and exentric person. We arrived slightly too late, yet it was no problem to still be served food, which was very kind. The place was a proper pub with proper pub food, incredibly cosy and intresting.

Real olde worlde pub that appears untouched for decades with low ceilings still covered in cigarette smoke from years gone by. The main pub is full of nick nacks, old pictures and an ancient carpet. I personally think it was lovely, charming and brilliant but it won’t be to everyone’s taste. I would definitely come again for the experience. Staff are all lovely and chatty. Food is good. Bedclothes and towel were crisp and clean, room was tidy and clean, shower works well. All very reasonable prices. Half the price of a Travelodge. If you want character then come here!

This is NOT a Travelodge. In my opinion, that’s a good thing. I thought it was great but if you want a clinically clean box then do NOT come here. The place is ancient with steps to access the pub, small doorways, narrow staircase, single glazed windows with plenty of ventilation about them and a mattress that has seen better days.

Simone and Anna were both outstanding in seeking to ensure we had a lovely stay. Beer and home made food excellent. Anna cooked us a fabulous breakfast and very accommodating in regard to timing. Room and bed comfortable. Excellent value.

Nothing to do with accommodation but puddle lane was flooded due to extreme rain. If you go down the back roads just take it very slowly as pot holes. Locals lovely as very helpful both in getting to pub and ensuring we were on the right roads going to next location

Did not have breakfast after sampling the food in the evening. The bed was comfortable.

Apart from the bed, every thing else was extremely poor. The fact that booking .com has such establishments on offer will prevent me from using your web page ever again. I would have no confidence in the quality of your listings. I thought that smoking was illegal in public houses in the Uk.
