It was a very peaceful location. Excellent value for money. It had a very homely feel and welcoming environment. We enjoyed drinking tea on the balcony listening to the sounds of nature.

The restaurant was a little slow at times no big deal.

Where do I start?! This is a little slice of heaven that I am so pleased I found and booked. The property is incredible and the surrounding grounds and multi level terraces with seated areas looking out over the tree canopy, along with the infinity pool were simply bliss. Lovely four poster bed in the room a frankly incredible bathroom and lovely deep bath gave a real classy romantic ambience. The restaurant is incredible on yet another terrace level and the food was superb. They were fantastic at taking us to and from the entrance to Sinharaja rain forest. Honestly a stunning location and they made a fantastic effort with a birthday cake for my partner and sourced a driver to take us to the airport for our reluctant flight home.

That we only got one night in heaven! This location is worthy of a longer duration stay if you want to escape and relax.

The location could not be better. It looks exactly like the pictures. It is quite a touristic place, but we didn’t mind. We loved it.

The location is beautiful, and very convenient for getting to one of the Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve gates. The hotel staff drop guests off at the gates and collects later so that’s a very helpful service. Staff are friendly and very kind - I had an accident while I was staying and they even found me an aloe Vera leaf to treat my grades. Walking with a guide in the rainforest was a great experience and very peaceful. The hotel pool has a beautiful setting and was great for swimming in.

For us, it was a mixed experience overall. The hotel is 20 odd years old and it shows - the lighting in the rooms is poor (very dark), only one bedside light, defunct tv on the wall, very loud aircon, bedroom walls are were very marked and the bathroom lighting was unreliable. There was nowhere to hang anything in the bedroom. Lots of charming ideas in terms of landscaping but overall we felt the hotel needs freshening up and updating. We agreed with some of the other reviews, some of the food offering is poor (eg very basic plasticy white sliced bread) but the Sri Lankan options were much better.

The views are just as great as the pictures show. A really nice retreat away from much busier spots elsewhere. Most of the other guests were very keen bird enthusiasts (lots of big cameras), but we really enjoyed the hiking tour in the forest as well as a bird safari we arranged through the hotel, even though we knew very little ahead of time. Plenty of nature also seemed to like the trees opposite our balcony! The restaurant was really nice and reasonably priced given how far much of the food must need to be delivered. It's not hotel service, so you need to ask at the office if you need things like more water, towels etc , but staff were always very helpful.

If you need WiFi it's not the place for you as connection was often quite unstable and slow, but understandable really given how remote it is.

De plek is geweldig voor het maken van een wandelsafari in het regenwoud. Architectuur en Inrichting zijn heel bijzonder - koloniaal. Prachtig zwembad. Eten in restaurant is erg smaakvol met ruime keuze. Personeel is heel aardig.

De bedjes bij het zwembad wat weinig in aantal en comfort.

Ask for other rooms than room 1 and 8, the others have a much nicer view and balcony No experience with the river view accommodations, I think the ones in the main building are the best rooms wi-fi is limited to lobby area, no data signal in this area
