Jansen’s Bungalow Sinharaja Rainforest Retreat

Remote place on the top of the hill in a rainforest -unique location. Has fantastic cristal clean river, I extended for more 3 nights just to swim there. Grill seafood, coconut rise and fried cashew with garlic was my choice for food.

This is a magical place with stunning view over rainforest, gorgeous cottages and main bungalow. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We would go back in an instant!

There is limited space in the room to put or hang clothes and again in the bathroom, it is a bit cramped.

Wow! What an amazing place, what an amazing experience. First of all, thanks to all the staff members. They are extremely friendly and helpful young guys and definitely made my stay better. The hotel is much more beautiful than the pictures, I was really really impressed. My room was perfect, very stylish, big and comfortable. I had A/C and a fan, a refrigerator, selection of tea and coffee, bottled water. It's a dreamy place and I loved it. Food is also amazing. I had packed breakfast everyday and it was really good and I was out in the forest all day so did not have lunch. But the dinners, oh my god. Fantastic food, amazing ambience. I can not recommend this place enough. I'm definitely going back and probably staying longer than my previous 4 day visit.

Perfect setting with views from the balcony over the forest. Lovely swimming pool too and a bath as well as a shower. Spacious and comfortable room in a traditional bungalow. It was wonderful! The hotel provided a Turk yuk transfer for the 10 minute journey to the National park.

WiFi was practically non-existent. Sometimes available in the lobby area. The food was OK (there’s not really anywhere else to eat nearby) but was probably the least tasty of our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka.

Jansen is a peaceful, comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and welcome. By far the best part was the pool and the forest views from the bedrooms. Very peaceful, I'd be happy to stay again.

Wifi was weak.

Quirky doesn’t even begin to describe this place. A beautiful colonial bungalow, full of bric-à-brac and antiques, done up in Balinese style, at a wonderful secluded location in the middle of the rainforest. Comfortable rooms, a beautiful infinity pool and a lovely restaurant with an excellent chef, and all of this run by Lasith and a bevy of handsome young men. They might look like they were picked at a local modelling agency, but they all do an excellent job catering to your every need. And everything with a smile. 😃 I liked it so much I stayed another day.

Idyllic place in the middle of nature. Well decorated and maintained. Kind, but not to invasive personnel. Highly recommended to visit Sinharaja forest reserve, but you can easily also spend a day or two only to chill in the hotel.

Amazing bungalows with a spectacular view. We had everything we needed there and it was such a good space to just relax and enjoy nature. The bungalows were very clean and the common areas were nice to spend time in. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to switch off and connect with nature.
