Carlton Park Hotel Rotherham

Walked in walked out there was a skid mark in toilet hair al over smell was bad the worst place I have stoped in my life left and booked a different hotel

The layout of the room

Needs to clean more. Colours of rooms are awful. Need more options

property's location in relation to the reason for our visit to the area , quiet surroundings , although that could have been due to low occupancy , and free on site parking

room not prepared for number of guests - booked for two people , on arrival we only had 1 towel available , 1 cup available and 0 teaspoons , difficulty differentiating between staff and guests as no uniform or badges being worn , dirt and items left behind main desk / cabinet beneath the tv unit , sink in the room was a little loose in its base so moved if leant on , lack of information provided upon check in IE we weren't advised that housekeeping only operated on alternate days & we were provided with a number to contact reception which was simply written onto a post it note , restaurant only appeared to serve breakfast , no other meals and some facilities associated with the room weren't actually available

The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean,with no stains on them. There was hot water and it was very quiet during our stay. The staff were helpful.

The mattress protector was badly stained, the shower didn't work, however there was a bath which wasn't very clean but after cleaning it, it was usable. The bathroom fixtures and fittings were very dirty and the toilet bowl was badly stained.The Internet worked for about 5 minutes then no more. The tv worked occasionally but that was no problem because we were not in the room much. The room was reasonably clean on the parts you could see but quite dirty if you looked behind any furniture. There was no breakfast option. We had come up to visit our daughter and were hoping that this hotel could have been a place we could have used as a regular stop over. I didn't expect the Ritz, as it was a budget hotel but I did expect it to be clean ,so we probably won't be using it again.

Enjoyed the stay. Housekeeping were friendly, and helpful. Wasnt happy about producing photo ID at check in..as i stay away all over uk an never get asked this..

Room was warm, quiet and spacious.

We had no hot water the first night and the TV didn't work, this was reported to reception first morning and when we got back in the evening we had hot water however TV was still not working. Room was also quite tired looking.
