My husband, mother, and I stayed at this beautiful traditional Japanese home in Kawaguchiko, and it was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. The home itself is stunning — lovingly maintained, deeply authentic, and full of the kind of character you simply can’t manufacture. The owner’s personal care and presence made all the difference. He was there to welcome us, ensured we were comfortable, and the team was incredibly responsive throughout our stay, helping arrange taxis and coordinate plans with warmth and efficiency. The onsen next door was a perfect complement to the experience. As westerners, getting to truly live inside a traditional Japanese home — even briefly — was something we will carry with us for a long time.

This is a beautifully preserved traditional home, and it feels that way in the best sense — it’s an immersive experience rather than a modern rental. Taller guests may want to be mindful of the traditional low ceilings, and the authentic nature of the space invites you to move through it with a gentle awareness. For us, that was part of the charm.

We were blown away by the house and the hospitality from the owner and receptionist. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us a thorough tour, and clearly explained all the details of the stay. They even helped us order dinner delivery. Every part of the home feels elegant: beautiful design, thoughtful amenities, and great attention to detail. We felt truly cared for throughout the night. It was like stepping into a completely different time and space; something we never expected, and enjoyed so much. Thank you to everyone who made this experience so wonderful, including customer service and the receptionist, especially the owner. I can tell how much effort you’ve put into the home and into hosting guests, and I sincerely appreciate it!

Very beautiful property with a great view of the lake. The property manager + owner were very professional and welcoming. Facilities and onsen experience was one of the best ever.
