Baobab Africa Lodge Zanzibar

Loved the baobab trees, monkeys, and pleasant staff. It was nice to have a pool in the heat. The massage therapist, Maria, was very good.

The air conditioning would go off with the power served and then flash and beeps 15. Then go back in. This repeated all night at least 6 times. They tried to repair but it did it again on our third night. The bed mattress is very hard.

The inside of the resort is perfect, high quality architecture, great bar with tasty coctails, delicious food, everything super clean. Staying under the thousand years old baobab was an unforgottable experience.

The access road, the isolation: nowhere to go except to the beach.

The staff!!!! How lovely and caring they were! I arrived unwell first day having just come from safari and the whole team looked after me through out my stay, checking in how I was feeling and ensuring I had anything I needed! As a solo traveler this was simply priceless - thank you!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location, the restaurant built onto the ancient Baobab tree was awesome! The nearby beach is breathtaking. Couldn’t be happier with it stay here, the staff really made us feel like we at home. Eric the owner was super helpful too, providing us with a driver for the day and a contract for a day safari. Would love to return one day

Beautiful boutique hotel - I loved everything about this stay - the best of both worlds with nature and beach. the staff were very kind and helpful, and it was very unique to have meals in a baobab tree. It is a fantastic escape for those looking to avoid the major touristy areas in favour of a more relaxed stay without compromising the beauty of your surroundings and quality of service.

The staff at the Baobab lodge were all lovely, very friendly and always helpful, when we checked in we had two issues with the bungalow which were fixed almost immediately which I appreciate how quick the hotel wanted to resolve the matter. The location though secluded was really safe at no point did we (a group for 4 female friends feel unsafe). The breakfast is decent and the lunch and dinner menu were not bad either. Travel is easily arranged and accessible. the rooms are cleaned and mopped and beds made daily the surrounding area outside the rooms are also kept neat and tidy. there is also a lovely mocktail and cold towl on arrival which was a nice touch. Overall i would recommend this hotel and would probaly visit again.

The electric does cut out from time to time especially at night time, but there seems to be a back up generator that kicks in a couple seconds later, which reboots both the wifi and aircon. The Location is very secluded, not great if you are planning excursions outside/far away. The shower is okay, the water pressure isnt great but it does the trick and you do get hot water.
