Baobab Africa Lodge Zanzibar

It looked exactly like the pics, staff was so friendly and accommodating. It was so serene and peaceful.

Very nice hotel with awesome pool and great restaurant. Close to the beach. Very good for relaxing.

Rooms are a bit stuffy and there is little space to stow your belongings.

Still this lodge was very comfortable, the setting like a paradise and the staff so incredibly friendly, helpful and engaging. I could easily walk to the breathtaking seashore nearby that was dramatic in high and low tide. The chef was fantastic and food really delicious. I ate almost every meal here over my 5-day stay. I enjoyed great massages at poolside in a private tent. The Masai show was really great to see and then we all had so much fun dancing all together.

I felt some discomfort about it being so close to a forest reserve and in a precious grove of baobab tree, especially that some limbs of a magnificent baobab were cut to accommodate the building of a tree house into it. This houses the restaurant. It is exquisite and enchanting I must admit. I did see that nearby someone else is building a lodge or restaurant into another tree. This saddens me because the forests and wildlife are far more precious than any tourists, so please don’t compromise your island for us tourists.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and pool are very clean.

The only thing was the netting of bathroom which easily lets in harmful insects ie mosquitoes should probably have smaller holes to deter insects.

Baobab prepares the best food I've eaten in Zanizbar which is served in an amazing restaurant on a baobab tree. A big plus for the cleanliness of the rooms and very helpful service!

Beautiful venue, very clean, high standard, very kind staff, good restaurant in very nice setting

The lodge is quite enclosed; most of the rooms border the swimming pool and there are no views or grounds to wander around, giving you a somehwat looked over / enclosed feeling. The nearby mtende beach is beautiful but very small and flooded by day tourists in mini vans who run in and out so after two short visits we stayed in the lodge.
