Baobab Africa Lodge Zanzibar

Pool is nice, staff was friendly, location is authentic with beautiful surroundings and impressive baobab trees, air-conditioning, small outdoor gym..

We stayed in 3 hotels this holiday on Zanzibar. This one was really disappointing and not worth the money (other hotels had the same price, but were way better). The owner or GM is not present, resulting in a lack of structure and detail. Staff seemed a little bored. Breakfast was terrible. Old fruit, dry bread, not a lot of choice. Instant coffee, not a good one.. Other coffee is not included. The bathroom was not well maintained and outdated. Bar closed earlier than mentioned. It just doesn't have a very relaxing atmosphere. I would not book this hotel again. Hopefully, improvements will be made in the future. .

Nice quiet place. People were nice and helpful.

In the bathroom, the tap was made from wood and looked special, but mushrooms were growing in there.

The village next door is amazing. The beach is being. The place is small and boutique and the food is great.

The infrastructure isn’t working perfectly. We had multiple electricity problems every day and when the air conditioning isn’t working you can’t get a good sleep. When the electricity works, WiFi is working very good (needed for work purposes)

The staff were all wonderfully friendly and eager to please. The hotel was set at the edge of a village and, with a tiny bit of effort, we felt like we got a small glimpse of the lives of local people. Also, dining in a giant baobab tree was also fun.

I would have liked a more varied breakfast.

Lovely swim out family room. Lovely staff. Short walk to beautiful beach. Lovely and helpful staff. Very quiet.

The location just past the village and a short walk to an unbelievable beach is quite something in its own right. Then the swimming pool, rooms, food and excursions give you everything you could want for but the thing that makes this place really special is the staff. Getting to know you, making you feel at home and literally nothing is too much to ask, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.
