Location, stuff, food.

There is nothing.

My kids loved this place most of all the places we've stayed at. The pool was great, just coloring bright colors, rather take dark swimming suit. The property was small, nice, clean, calm, green, and baobabs charming. The restaurant up in the tree was pleasurable, food was really tasty. Mtende Beach was about 5 minutes walk and it is so lovely place. Staff was kind and good mooded. We were very satisfied and enjoyed the stay. We would definitely return if there's a chance.

The fan on the top floor was too noisy and did not cool enough I think. The Aircon downstairs was totally fine. One wall of the bathroom would need a new paint. The area is very quiet and secluded, not much to do, but that is a matter of preference. The quiet place has its own advantages.

Mainly we liked Bob, but, the pool and general ambience were both fantastic and we loved our stay in the well kept gardens. A true oasis in the shade.

The waiters could have been a little bit more attentive at times but that’s about it.

Ahmed, who was the only member of staff who showed us a genuinely warm and sincere welcome.

Being charged 5% on our arrival without being told of the cash and bank transfer options to avoid this. After informing booking.com about this, the owner was unhappily compelled to rectify it. No welcome drink, nor indeed words of welcome from the owners who clearly saw us at the pool bar. We thought they were other guests. Cockroaches crawling around the bed frame inside the mosquito net and falling from the thatched ceiling. Mosquito net had many holes. Disturbed rest and sleep. Even after asking housekeeping for help, they just sprayed the room and no attempt was made to fix the nets. A 6 night stay and bed sheets were not changed. Same reluctance regarding bath towels. Appreciate the eco implications but at the price we paid we expected at least one change of sheets and towels. At first delighted by the pool, we were horrified to see the pool attendant cleaning the tide mark around the edge with bleach toilet cleaner, surely harmful to staff and guests alike? Forced to accept an expensive New Year's Eve menu as hotel prettty isolated. Ordering from the regular menu was refused. Jacuzzi and sunbeds in our bungalow garden were never cleaned. Zero communication about facilities in or outside the hotel. No info about taxis or recommendations for restaurants. Tried very hard to leave early but sadly no flights available. Final days cheered by hearing similar complaints by fellow guests which reassured us we were not alone. No doubt the owner will ask why we are only writing our review now. In answer, may I direct them to their character assassination in response to the poor single traveller who dared to suggest breakfast was a little underwhelming.

Nice place to connect with Zanzibar vibes, The staff it was very kindly, good food, and the it’s close to the beach, definitely its good value.

The AC did not work properly, it’s was super hot even at night time, they kindly helped me to change the room, but It was the same problem with the AC. And the taxi provided by the Lodge to pick me up from the Airport wasn’t the best one, He was harassing me on the all way and he was driving very badly, I know he doesn't work for the hotel but, was provided by them, and the situation made me feel uncomfortable.

One word will suffice … I N C R E D I B L E !! Sophie and Eric are amazing hosts ( and Bobby too!) the lodge is simply stunning . Amazing location, outstanding lodge - simply perfect

The nice atmosphere with the pool, the baobabs. The staff is very friendly. Food was good, octopus is excellent! Very close to Mtende beach.

Excursions are too expensive. Sometimes no water in shower. Jacuzzi not really appealing.

The property is an Oasis of greenery and peace 😌 The Restaurant and Bar provide excellent cuisine and drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room and the bathroom were really spacious and cleaned every day 😊

We stayed in the room with the hot tub, but because of the fluctuation of the current energy, we could not properly enjoy it, as there were not bubbles. A mini fridge in the room would be a great asset to have some cold drink.
