Baobab Africa Lodge Zanzibar

The location of this place is very unique and special! From the check-in day with a lovely reception with fresh juice and cool perfumed towels to refresh from the day heath, until the checkout, we felt immediately that this accomodation would be our favorite in Zanzibar! Everything that is there is made and taken care with love, joy and effort. It is beautifully imagined and created with vision. We slept wonderfully in the quietness of the place, and we had very relaxing days, we just used to go out to go to the beautiful beach (5min walking), we had everything we needed inside: a stunning restaurant literally in the giant and old baobab tree, where wood and illumination result in a perfect ambience to have dinner. The food was everyday fresh and delicious, very well prepared and served by the nicest staff ever! To burn the calories we used to go to the gym and meet with the resident little monkey, Mr. Bob! :) we had so much fun! To relax, we had some card games, domino, with the pool bar close to have a fresh drink. Finally, a word to Aisha the massage lady (yes, they also provide massage service!): we loved your work and thank you for relaxing us so much! :) For the owners, Sophie & Eric: we are very lucky to have been in your beautiful lodge and having the chance to meet you! You are great and we wish you all the best and we know that FOR SURE you will have more and more happy guests as we are! We hope to come back! Susana and Néstor

The place was absolutely amazing. It looked like a place you would go on a honeymoon. It was very near a beautiful beach and the hotel had a good taxi driver if you wanted to visit someplace else. The food was also great.

Loved everything

We had a great time at Boabab Africa Lodge. The restaurant is simply amazing built in the big baobab tree. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool, the food and the surroundings.

We didn’t really like the mattress.

The hotel is small so nice and quite, in a beautiful area with a beautiful designed villas.

I travelled with my kids and to be honest this place did not feel like a lodge or hotel, it felt like home away from home. Everyone from the owners Eric and Sophie to all the staff were so warm, friendly and welcoming. They made it so hard for us to leave. We really enjoyed our vacation and we will for sure go back there. Thank you to all of the Lodges staff and a big thank you to Eric and Sophie for make our trip a memorable one. We will always remember this holiday.

I feel so safe and calm during 4 days in Baobab. Eric and Sophie are so caring and the staffs are very nice. I want to say big thanks to Danie and Sauda for all the cares! My room is lovely and I enjoy the time in the pool. Tout est parfait!

Food was great. Unique property with the big baobab tree. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Kind of secluded in the sense it is a long ways from attractions in the center and north part of island.
