A Somerset Countryside Lodge

Very comfortable, everything I needed was provided, very clean. Quiet location and really quick, friendly response to messages/queries.

Only a couple of small things: the freezer compartment in the fridge was frosted over so I couldn’t freeze anything and the outdoor fairy lights weren’t working.

The Countryside Lodge was perfect - so many little touches that made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Meg (the host) was exceptional in terms of the level of information provided which made the place easy to find.

The property was warm and inviting when we arrived with lights on to welcome us from the very dark country lane outside. Getting into the property using the lockbox was easy based on the instructions provided and everything was clean and tidy on arrival. We appreciated the little touches, like teas, cereals and milk being provided. The bed was comfortable and the property had everything we needed for a relaxing night's stay. I wouldn't' hesitate to recommend it.

There were a couple of small issues in the bathroom with the lighting and the sink, which was leaking a little, but nothing that impacted our enjoyment of the stay.

The electric hob knobs had lost its markings so very difficult to use. Lovely wooden floor sadly unfinished ,so was unlevel with gaps and screw sticking up

The area was good and the lodge seemed lovely

Only doubts were gaps with light wires showing through the floor. And didn't feel as if back door was secure. Other than that it is a lovely get away.

It wasn't that we didn't like as such , but just the mattress appeared to have a few springs broke on one side and it dipped so made it a bit uncomfortable, just a slight heads up Also the directions were slightly confusing as was looking for a metal gate with a gravel drive directly opposite, when in fact it was a drive way which led to a gravel path lol , not a huge issue but maybe in directions for future guests put driveway opposite the playing park and fields Neither is a critisium at all though. Just a heads up and suggestion as we loved it here 😊

Nicely decorated and there’s everything you might need during your stay Instructions to the place are very clear and the host made sure everything was communicated prior to our arrival

Neighbours were playing very loud music until 3am (Saturday), otherwise it was very quiet so it seems that might have been a one off. Shower tiles have a lot of black mildew.

A perfect bolthole, lovely location, so comfortable and tastefully fitted out and very helpful hosts. It was perfect as our stop off on the way to Cornwall.
