Lakefront Getaway in Rotorua

It’s very close to the Central and the Lake view is perfect. Definitely, we’ll book again.

The location was great, close to the lakefront and an easy walk into town. Comfortable beds with good bedlinen.

Unfortunately the description of the property did not match what we found. What follows is an accurate and honest review of the issues we encountered. No bath or spa bath in the bathrooms as stated. As well in the description it mentions 2 bathrooms with hot tubs, this is 100% totally inaccurate, there were no baths of any kind inside the property. The hot tub was located in a rundown, neglected dirty garden shed in the garden and was unusable. There was no open air bath as stated in the description under Wellness. The outside pool was also unusable, there was rusty pipes, an accumulation of green algae , cobwebs everywhere and has been totally neglected, the description also describes it as swimming pool, it is not big enough at all to be a swimming pool. It states that the standout features of this property are the pool and hot tub, both of which were completely unusable as you will see in my photos. The outdoor furniture was falling apart with a lazy susan that didn't work and the table was so dirty. There was no shade provided so you could not sit outside on a lovely sunny day. One of the cupboards in the kitchen had mice poo all through it and the bottom drawer in the fridge was dirty. The information sheets on the property were dirty with notes written on scrappy bits of paper. The mops used for cleaning were dirty and hanging on a wall in the lounge, an odd place to put cleaning equipment. There was an accumulation of dead insects, dirt etc on all inside sills and doorframes of the doors leading to the back garden. We paid $1739 for 3 nights to stay here, and all of the above was brought to the attention of the owner during our stay. She offered us a $150 refund or a free nights stay which she termed as a gesture of goodwill. We declined this offer as we believe that this was not a fair or reasonable offer given the amount of false information advertised as well as not being able to use the pool/hot tub which was a drawcard when we booked.

Fantastic location, within 5 min walking distance to eat street bars and resturants etc. Right on the lake. Easy to deal with Ada the host.
