Lal, Romeni, and Grace are amazing hosts! This is a fantastic homestay with an incredible breakfast. They also offer dinner on-site, which we highly recommend—definitely worth trying! The view is stunning, overlooking the valley and Nuwara Eliya, with a beautiful forest behind the property. Lal organizes trekking tours that are absolutely fantastic—highly recommended and worth planning into your stay. We would definitely come back and wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing negative to mention.

Fabulous stay in the loveliest of places with the loveliest of people. Dinner here is another level. I never usually ’eat in’, but if you don’t, you’ll be missing out on the best food in Sri Lanka. If it’s free, don’t hesitate to,just grab it!

We had an amazing stay at Sincere Wilderness, the chalet was so comfy, hosts were very welcoming and kind, and the food was delicious! I booked this property because I read other positive reviews, and I can confirm that everything is true! 😊 Like others, we had dinner and breakfast, and it was the best food we have ate in Sri Lanka ❤️ Thank you for an amazing stay!

You should know it's normally cold and there's a lot of humidity in Nurwara-Eliya, and we felt that when we arrived. But she provided a lot of blankets and hot water and that was very nice!!

Located on a hill with the cloud forest behind but only a 15 metre mute walk to town this quiet location is perfect and has a great view. The family who run it are lovely and nothing is too much trouble even given a hot water bottle. The meals are fresh the coffee even comes from the garden and are the best we’ve had. The room was clean with comfortable bed and hot water. We loved it and were sorry to leave

Warm reception from Romeni and her lovely family. The chalet was cosy and comfortable and the meals- all from home grown produce- were delicious.

Nothing really- a bit of a problem with the internet but Romeni managed to sort it out.

It was one of the best stays we had in the country. Not only for the stay itself and the views of the city, but also for the gastronomic experience, as the breakfast and dinner they offer are homemade and delicious. They also offer an excellent laundry and motorbike rental service, and the whole family is lovely. In addition, with Lal you can take a tour around the city to learn many things about their history, climate and vegetation.

The host and her mum were just AMAZING! Taking care of us in every single detail, suggesting activities and making a super great breakfast. We even had dinner at their place and they just cooked super delicious curries. The most amazing thing was that I am vegan and they really pay attention to this at the point that they even cooked a delicious vegan dessert for us (which was already traditionally vegan I guess). But I can tell you that I have been in hotels in Sri Lanka where I got fruits for dessert (effort = 0). Here the effort was 100%! They also where so thoughtful and gave us a warm water bottle to warp up in the colder night in the chalet ☺️🫶🏽 I can only highly recommend them, everything was perfect! My husband and I had an amazing experience at Sincere Wilderness Homestay. It was one of our favorite stays in our two-and-a-half-week road trip through Sri Lanka! For practical matters, the property is located in a quiet residential area at the hilltop above the center of town. It is accessible by car or three-wheeler via a narrow paved road, and parking is available for guests. The terrace offers beautiful views over Nuwara Eliya, and the chalet is fully equipped with everything one would need for a cozy mountain getaway. The entire property is charming down to the smallest details! What truly made our stay special, though, was the warmth and hospitality of the hosts! We stayed at Sincere Wilderness Homestay on Christmas Day, and the hosts went above and beyond to make our Christmas away from home memorable. The entire chalet — kitchen, living area, and upstairs bedroom loft — were decorated with Christmas decorations, including a Christmas tree. The hosts prepared the most beautiful afternoon tea, home-cooked dinner, and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast for us, and we couldn’t stop talking about the breadfruit curry the rest of the trip! In the morning, the father of the host family, a naturalist guide and researcher, took us on a half-day hike around Nuwara Eliya through the cloud forest, tea plantations, and town, providing insight into the region’s flora and fauna, as well as the history and culture of Nuwara Eliya and Sri Lanka as a whole. The host family puts so much attention to detail into receiving guests at Sincere Wilderness Homestay, and we could not recommend it more! We would return to this property again and again!
