Captain Villa Heritage House

We really liked this hotel. Room was very clean. Great location to walk everywhere in Varanasi and get to the different Gats, is also very close to the ganga. Many restaurants around to eat continental food! The top floor of the hotel is not done yet, I think as soon is done 100% could potentially be a 4+ stars Hotel. Room was very good size , furniture very cool and pretty! They have an amazing roof top terrance and I really hope that they will open a restaurant as there is an amazing view ! Staff is very helpful, they helped us on the Holy Festival to get a taxi as was a very difficult journey because of the festival and not taxi and everything was closed! Highly recommended this hotel. If we will back in Varanasi we will probably come back to this hotel!

Only disappointed they made us pay the coffee that we thought was included in the price, as the staff was asking us if we wanted coffee constantly, but they haven’t mentioned that was not free 😔

no window in the room, it was claustrophobic.

Service (Not the rooms) is the best part of this Hotel. The staff are friendly and make an effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The room is very small with hardly any space to move around. Shower, commode etc may not work. The room and linen are clean. The totally unexpected thing is that the Hotel has no car parking access. Only street parking 300 meters away, that too for a very short time. You can take solace that it is the same for many other Hotels in the Kedar Ghat, Harischandra Ghat area. That is Varanasi!!! Not recommended for people with walking difficulties

The hotel staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Anshu Gupta, manager at the hotel desk, went out of the way to guide us to the hotel and receive us, and arranged for darshan at the Kashi Vishwanath mandir and kala bhairav mandir amidst the huge crowds everywhere in Varanasi because of the Mahakhumb. Many thanks to Anshu Gupta and the entire staff at Captain Villa Heritage House for the excellent service during our stay at the Hotel.

Great location - right on the Harishchandra Ghat. Nice blend of heritage vibes with modern comfort - offering homely vibes and has a lovely, colourful foyer. I liked the fact that all rooms have a bit of balcony, secured by net avoiding the monkeys hassles and hence brightness. It was bit easier to get closer to this place/ghat via eRickshaw, hand rickshaw & taxis than the other ghats - especially with the road blocks we encountered during our stay there [Jan 28-Feb 1st] in wake of the increased traffic in Varanasi post Stampede in Prayagraj - Maha Kumbh. The staff was friendly, ready to help; the Manager there went above & beyond to make our stay memorable and to most of our trip.

It is quite some walk from kashi Vishwanath temple, the main ghats where the Ganga aartis are performed and the other more happening places, that said though - this place is compartively quieter and we welcomed that more, in light of the heavy crowd in Varanasi during our stay there. The rooms could have been more cleaner, well dusted and well maintained. The funiture in the balconies were dusty.
