Batad Pension and Restaurant

Bien évidement une vue surprenante sur toute les rizières de Batad. L’endroit était magnifique. Et la gérante de l’endroit très sympathique et à l’écoute.

Le lit avec un matelas plutôt fin donc je sentais les barres en bois, donc beaucoup de douleurs.

The view from the terrace is to die for! You enter the Guesthouse from the back side, get out on the terrace, and it's all revealed in front of you, this gigantic amphitheater of rice terraces with a backdrop of forest clad mountains, absolutely stunning. This is still rural Philippines, there's no road access. Everything got to be carried in. My room was better and more spacious than many budget rooms in the cities. Don't think the bedding is changed between each guest though, at least not the warm blanket , but I'm prepared and have everything. Clean common bathrooms with hot showers, but you have to bring everything else you need. There is no lock on the door, but I have a padlock as well. The food in the restaurant is incredibly good and made with love and care. The beers are ice cold. The set up of the terrace with all the decorations is so beautiful, I haven't got words really. There is no cellphone coverage, but paid for cheap WiFi, which can be good enough to watch a movie, or bearly working at all. And for those who are reluctant to book, because it doesn't say you can.....then, yes you can do it here. Nothing of the above is a negative thing to me as I wouldn't expect more.

I would have given this place a 10, if it wasn't for the fishing! It started already in Banaue!!! I was met by a tricycle driver who had my name on a piece of paper. NOTHING was communicated up front. Can't just scoop me up and charge me for private transport! I took the public Jeepney instead. The guy lied to me and said it was already full. No way, it's only leaving in 2.30h, and we left half full. More fishing at the end of the road. A guy had come to show me the way. Well that might be true, but signposting it would have been better. He wants to be my porter as well for a fee. No way! I carry my own luggage. Half way to the Guesthouse, Guide for tomorrow? No chance. You do NOT need a guide for the Top viewpoint and the waterfall, but offline navigation is essential. Almost there now and a statement from the guy. You DO NEED a porter to get back up. No way, I'll just leave early, and so I did. I might have taken one, if it was posted up something at the Guesthouse saying: services available, and prices for it.... But all this fishing just made me arrive in paradise in a bad mood. I'm NOT a walking ATM! - Once through the door, I heard no more though, and had a nice stay.

The place of the accomodation is absolutly stunning. The view from the restaurant is incredible. Rooms, shower, toilet and everything corresponds the locality so dont expect luxury but amenities matching the place.

The place is not suitable for people looking for posh accomodation. That is based on my opinion a good thing though as it stays authentic like this.

The staff is very kind. The food is really good. It’s near the entrance to Batad, better if you arrive during daylight time. There are no plugs in the rooms in general in Batad but you can leave your devices charging in the common area. Warm shower. The place is clean. Great view.

The staff were so kind and friendly. The location was picture perfect. Lovely environment. Food was the best. Perfect place for a peaceful vacation.
