"A fun stay and Paul’s a great host"

8.0

The place was quirky (it’s an old house). The room itself was large and clean with a big bed and large bathroom

Parking can be a pain as daytime is max two hours parking. But we arrived late enough to park at the school

"It's B&B Jim, but not as we know it!"

9.0

"It's B&B Jim, but not we we know it" is how Paul the owner describes his home. He only has one room to let so you're guaranteed his personal attention. If you ask for a cooked breakfast you'll make his day as it means he gets to have one as well - and excellent it was too! If you decide to go do yourself a favour and learn about the history and eastern origins of the swastika before you step into his kitchen - you'll save yourself a bit of bother that way and avoid jumping to an entirely false conclusion! Ludlow itself was described by Sir John Betjeman as "..probably the loveliest town in England with its hill of Georgian houses ascending from the river Teme to the great tower of the cross-shaped church, rising behind a classic market building." I disagree only in one respect - in my mind there is no "probably" about it. If, like me, you're visiting to attend the outstandingly good annual Ludlow Piano Festival in late May then you're in for a treat - and Paul's home is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. If you should have time on your hands Paul has a delightful lounge you're free to relax in. Some will love his home and approach to hospitality, some will not. For me it was a life-enriching experience and I plan to return next year.

A little more attention to cleaning the bedroom and en-suite bathroom wouldn't go amiss, though I've seen far worse.

"Friendly host, charming old house, well placed."

9.0

Well placed centrally in the lovely town of Ludlow. Old rambling house, very quaint and individualistic decor, (wonderful antique clocks). Comfortable room, excellent bed. Paul prepared a good light breakfast, and chatted both mornings; lots of interesting topics and anecdotes! He was helpful, suggesting places to go, walks etc.

The parking was up and down, space available on the road overnight, but necessary to move the car in the day, although Paul was helpful again with info on a cheap car park nearby.

"Nice confortanle relaxon."

It was a plentiful continental by choice. I think a cooked breakfast was am option? Freshly baked croissants. Host was interesting company and had a joie de vivre. Very near to town centre.

There were no dislikes. A friendly b&b

"Perfect B & B in central Ludlow"

9.0

The green dragon is a single room B & B. Ideally located in the centre of Ludlow. It was an old pub that has been tastefully and quirkily converted to a comfortable home. The proprietor Paul is welcoming and very considerate and has a good story to tell. You have use of an upstairs lounge as well. The bedroom was clean, tidy, comfortable with a well equipped shower room. A continental breakfast was included. Will definitely stay again.

Everything was just right - be it slightly bohemian.
