The Victorian lodge

Excellent location, easy check in, comfortable beds, very thoughtful arrangements in the common area in the beautiful garden.

The place needed a bit of refreshing to make it a truly excellent one.

It was perfect for our family of four. Flat 2 had a separate bedroom with bunk beds for the kids so they had their own space and the adults didn’t need to be silent from bedtime! We had gorgeous views of the rear garden which my son loved playing in. Location was perfect for us too and very easy to find and access. Everything we may have needed was provided.

Nothing to dislike

Clean with all necessary facilities and good guidance as to where to get provisions.

We did find the bathroom facilities difficult to use. As someone with arthritis it was difficult to turn around to access toilet paper and flush. The sink was also too small to be useful and we shaved or did our teeth in the kitchen. The literature outside was in many cases out of date, the bus timetable is for 2021 for example. My Librarian wife collected up to date leaflets and replaced where appropriate. It would also help if the clock worked. The table tennis table was covered in guano otherwise we would have used it, perhaps a cover could be provided.

***** 5 Stars! We Love The Victorian Lodge. My family and I stayed at The Victorian Lodge in Isle of Wight, UK. We had a lovely time. The bed arrangements, location, and overall environment were excellent. The garden space at the back and the view were absolutely stunning. Everything was very well organised – a solid 10 out of 10. However, it was quite cold during our stay, and unfortunately, the room heating didn’t work properly, which made it a bit uncomfortable. I'm sure a little tune in the room heating system would resolve the issue. On the bright side, the hot water worked perfectly in the bathroom. All in all, everything was 10 out of 10 – except for the room heating. I must also mention that the host was incredibly kind and sweet over the phone. My kids said they’d love to visit The Victorian Lodge again and again, and we’d highly recommend this place to any small family looking to enjoy their time in the Isle of Wight.

The property was stunning. Apart from the facilities at the property, what I also loved was the location- just a 2 minutes walk away from the bus stop that connects you to the city centre, and other major attractions.
