Fantastic city centre location

I arrived for an early check in as agreed with the owner having traveled from the Isle of Man. When I entered the property it was obvious that the cleaners had not been. The bed was unmade and all the towels had been used and were dirty. Contacted the owner who said they would contact the cleaners. I went back to the property at actual check out time and there was no change. At that point I could not get hold of the owner. Had to book another hotel as I was out to dinner with friends shortly afterwards. Owner eventually came back to say I would get a refund. One week later no word from owner or booking.com to get my refund. Very, very disappointed.

The location for train station and theatre were excellent.

Apartment was smaller than expected, TV didn't work and nobody about to mention it too in order to have it fixed. Shower floor had no antislip in it so almost fell both in it and trying to get out. Not the easiest place to find, google maps is no use, you need to ask the locals as it's down a side street round corner from the main street.

Lift wasn't working so had to walk 4 flights of stairs

Lift out of order, 102 steps each way. Floor in apartment was filthy with an unknown dried liquid, deep red in colour, possibly blood. (Photos taken) Other areas of the floor were quite dirty. Door intercom was broken and disabled. Bathroom sink taps were very loose and difficult to use single handed. And a stupid alarm bleeping 6 times every minute for every hour the whole time!

The lift seems to be always out of order based on my experience and looking at previous reviews. 102 stairs up to the apartment was not what was expected. Great kitchen but no pots or pans.

Things to know before booking - PLEASE READ ! Firstly, the lift was out of service, and with the apartment on the 4th floor, there are a lot of stairs (not the owner's fault, but an inconvenience worth noting). Upon entering, you’ll find the bedroom (with two single beds pushed together), which means you can hear any neighbors coming home during the night. There’s only one bedside table and lamp, which makes the space feel a bit limited. The bathroom looks nice, although I had to use a knife to get the sink plug out, as the mechanism was broken. The kitchen would be usable if it had basic cookware like frying or saucepans, but these were missing. I contacted the owner, who promised to bring some, but unfortunately, they never arrived. With no microwave, the oven was the only option for a hot meal. There are cutlery, plates, and a sponge, but no washing-up liquid — so I ended up buying some for me (and the next guest). The small TV is only usable with a streaming stick, but the remote for that didn’t work, even after I tried replacing the batteries. I also mentioned this to the owner, but it wasn’t addressed during my stay. Additionally, if you're expecting an in-apartment washing machine, note that the listing refers to a communal laundry room on the second floor, which felt a bit misleading. There are also a few minor maintenance issues, like a broken wall heater (replaced by a free-standing one) and a damaged panel under the oven. Overall, this was not a very positive experience, and I’m unlikely to return

Location Very comfortable for a short stay

Having to wait for the key code to access the property which was a bit stressful but I eventually was able to contact the owner . We didn’t cook or spend a lot of time in the Flat, but tv didn’t work and there were no pots and pans, but I left a note to say so for future clients otherwise it was fine
