"We went for a last minute weekend away with our kids and dogs. We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxed. Runswick"

9.0

We liked the location, close to the beach and food/pub. Dog friendly!! Log burner was fantastic for the drizzly days. Pub food was brilliant!

For the price/night some complimentary logs would have been nice and bathroom toiletries; small shampoos soap etc. Inly because there isn’t a shop in walking distance in the village. Also beds could use a mattress toppers. This is just constructive criticism it definitely didn’t impact our time spent there. It is a beautiful, well equipped cottage.

"Our stay was interesting, however this was more to the horrendous weather rather than the cottage. Would book again as o"

It was just the right size for us. In a great spot for Runswick beach. It was well stocked with kitchen equipment and the towels provided were lovely and thick. Dog friendly!

Smelt like it had just been painted?? This in however unavoidable to keep the place looking nice. This went when the windows were open.

"The perfect opportunity to enjoy a break without the need to drive."

9.0

Great location just a few steps from the Cleveland Way. Very close to the hotel so no need to drive (or walk) for food and drink. Very quiet with nice outside seating in a sun trap. Overall rating excellent, we will definitely book again.

Because we are not familiar with key boxes, we struggled to open it because we didn’t realise there were release buttons ON BOTH SIDES. The box is close to the fence as well so the left button is less obvious. Maybe a reference to this would help in the future. Possibly a meet and greet would have helped us overcome the key problem more quickly.

"A lovely weekend break. Bit hilly if you are elderly. But you can take your car so far down to the beach. Would definite"

It was lovely and clean and well set out.

The small living room could do with a TV for the children to watch separately if they wish to. A few more hand towels would be beneficial as 2 between 5 wasn’t so good.

"Very comfortable, good heating during chilly spell. There was only two of us staying, so masses of room, but even if it"

8.0

Large double bedrooms with very large beds. Towels and bedding felt good quality. Two separate living rooms, a lounge with tv big enough for five people, and a snug great for reading in, for two people. Good size fridge/freezer, well equipped kitchen and dining room. Welcome pack of milk, coffee, tea and biscuits appreciated. Outside seating area great for breakfast, loses the sun during the day. Attached to rear of pub, so very convenient!

No view of surrounding area. No en-suites, best shower was downstairs off the snug. Suggest description says the cottage is actually attached to the rear of the pub, to save visitors looking for a separate building! Local tv aerial out of action so not easy to access free tv channels, although a Firestick was provided.
