Church Street House

It was a clean place, the shared bathroom was pretty ok.

My room's door needed to be refitted. There was a big gap that allowed anyone to look inside my room if they wanted to. Since it was the first room in the first floor, every guest had to go past it and I had to turn off the lights to get changed because I was uncomfortable. My room was also next to the bathroom and it was a nightmare. There was some kind of water pump within the walls that filled up water every 20 seconds every time someone used the shower, toilet, or sink. It was so noisy the wall almost vibrated and I couldn't go back to sleep until whoever was using the bathroom was done. I was so happy to check out and wished I had paid more to stay somewhere better.

the room was on the main road next to city center, many noisy drunk people on their way back home. Maybe a double-glazed window would improve that. No chance to leave the bag before 3pm and after 10am, the shower power wasn't great, could invest on a decent shower considering that it's shared bathroom

Good price, convenient location, just what we needed for a one-night stay in Canterbury. Host was responsive to messages. Easy check-in. Was a pleasant bonus to find a shared kitchen downstairs with kettle, fridge etc.

Radiator in room was far too hot - room felt overheated when we arrived.

I loved this little place, such a great location and a very comfortable and clean room with everything I needed. the host was extremely welcoming and approachable and replied to my queries straight away. The key system is very convenient and check-in and -out is easy. All in all a very pleasant stay!

Some of the communal facilities are pretty basic and could perhaps do with an update and being an old building the walls are quite thin so probably a good idea to bring earplugs, but the area is relatively quiet so although you can hear street noise from the front bedrooms it wasn’t really an issue.

Overall it was a nice and cozy property, fairly clean and with enough essentials provided. Owner was very responsive to needs and requests. Master bedroom 1 was great. bedroom 4 is pretty small, suitable for kids. More specific bedroom pictures needs to be posted for reference while room selection as per needs.

I was very happy while booking the room as the location was perfect and a very fair price. I was looking forward to my stay. Unfortunately in the morning of my travels the owner called me and informed that the heating broke. Marina kindly found the replacement accommodation. While i appreciate the help the new accommodation was far away and the standard seems to be worse than the place i was hoping to stay. I cant comment on the accommodation on the Church street. but the communication with Marina was very nice and I much appreciate her help. I will be traveling to Canterbury again in the near future so will try to book and stay at Marinas place (hopefully with the working heating;))

The bathroom was a bit dirty but it was the fault of the other people in the place.
