Great location… well kept property.

Pools were not heated in January. Food/drink overpriced.

9 out of 10, just 1 thing that I didn't like they give you all menus with US dollar prices. It's Mexico

Charging practices for coffee!

The room was very nice. Our suite accommodated a family of 4 with a sofa bed and a separate fold out cot so that our teens didn't have to share a bed. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. Our view was a pool / partial ocean view and it was lovely. I liked the hotel facilities - the quantity of pools, restaurants, and bars. The sushi / sashimi / ceviche options were excellent. The beach is very quiet and immaculately clean, although you have to go to a nearby beach if you want to swim in the ocean. They throw weekly parties on the beach and ours was a blast - great entertainment, good food.

While the staff were friendly, the service was very slow, particularly for dinners and check-in. The hot water in the shower was inconsistent, although the water pressure was great. The outdoor hot tubs were fine, but I would have preferred hotter water (at least for the adult-only hot tubs).

We had high expectations for Playa Grande Resort, believing it to be a premium, high-end property, but unfortunately, our stay fell short. The bed and pillows were uncomfortably hard, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The gym was in poor condition, with many machines broken or worn out. Additionally, the wait staff repeatedly insisted on tips, despite a 15% service charge already added to the bill, claiming that the service charge does not go to them. We were offered a complimentary room upgrade, only to later find a $75 charge for it, which was both misleading and disappointing. Overall, the resort did not meet the standard we expected for the price, and we left feeling let down.

No ocean swimming

There were birds eating out of a pasta tray in the breakfast buffet area. When I asked to speak to a manager the server informed me this issue is something the hotel personnel is aware about. She also stated the problem is the guests don't put the lids back on the trays. I reminded her the salad and pasta area doesn't have any lids. If this is an ongoing issue I don't understand why the hotel management doesn't have lids for all the trays or has a staff member supervising the area so the birds stay away. The hotel management is neglecting the fact that their guests could get sick from eating pasta that he birds have ate out of. This is very disappointment as this is one of the ways diseases start and spread.
