The Traveller Kandy

The loveliest and friendliest host ever! Made us feel welcome from the first second onwards. Beautiful house with amazing views! A bit outside of town, which was nice to escape the noise. Still only a 15min tuktuk ride. Clean and modern rooms. And the cutest dog ever!!

We had a lovely room which was clean on arrival, very spacious, and had an amazing view of the river and greenery of Kandy. The host was very helpful and we had breakfast and evening meals here which were so good and a very reasonable price for massive portions! In terms of value for money I doubt you will beat this place. We enjoyed sitting outside the room on the terrace in the evening watching the sun go down and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Maybe could have Air Con but we were fine with the fan, location is a bit far from the centre but can sort a Tuktuk easily and actually enjoyed the quieter area. These are not negatives but just things to note for other people booking.

Very friendly people. Beautiful house, room and terrace. The owner did the interior design himself. It has a very Scandinavia and Sri Lankan vibe. Very good and firm bed. Very nice view from room and terrace. The breakfast is great. The accommodation is a few kilometer from the center of Kandy. It’s very quiet. We slept very well.

Booked for two nights, extended for four. One of my favorite stays in Sri Lanka! Beautiful teracce, spotless clean and modern rooms. Also, the price is great. We stayed in similar rooms in South which were 4x more expensive. It’s just 10min away from the centre and believe me - Kandy is much better outside the centre :D You can order your food there or just uber it. The host Harshana is wonderful. He has travelled/worked abroad and we had a lot to talk about. He helped with the visa extension too, very grateful for that. P.S. Don’t go trough the mountains, follow directions in booking.

Perfect place to stay in Kandy. We had a motorbike so getting up the steep road was no problem. Room was very spacious and had lots of areas to chill inside and outside. The view was also spectacular and host was very friendly

The owner was extremely friendly and even adjusted the checkout time upon our request. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious.

Probably the nicest place I've stayed so far in Sri Lanka, on a one month trip. The building is incredibly spacious. My room was so big and so well designed that I felt like I was staying in a very tasteful hotel. I had a lovely balcony with an excellent view. Shower was perfect. The host and his partner have the perfect combination of being really friendly but also laid back. If I ever come back to Kandy I will definitely be staying here again. Also all the people in the surrounding neighborhood were very friendly.

I can honestly say there is nothing that I didn't like about my stay here. It's 20 mins by tuk tuk from Kandy. That might be too much for certain travelers but I don't see it as a negative.
