Great beach, helpful staff. The location is fantastic, close to the Marina and other Yalıkavak hotspots. The service we received from the WhatsApp assistant was incredibly fast and helpful. Thank you Reyhan! The resort itself is beautiful, great boheme decoration, gorgeous aesthetic. They provide towels at the beach which we appreciated. The breakfast was great, we enjoyed it. It was hard to get ahold of the staff sometimes. The beds are super comfortable and the AC was a lifesaver. They provided us with small cosmetic items upon request right away.

A disappointment was that the room was not ready at check-in time and kept getting delayed. Not a great start after a long plane ride and a taxi trip, we were very tired and disappointed to wait in the lobby without being properly informed. Our room was a lot less spacious than it seemed in the pictures. Our room was a corner room on the 9th section, and I think that’s why it was a very narrow, long room. The corridor was super narrow to a point where two people can’t even walk side by side inside. This suite should’ve been called junior at most, not deluxe. The photos were a bit misleading. I’ve included a picture. great balcony though. One of the wardrobes no hanger space and it was just a super narrow thin one that we just didn’t understand what the purpose of having it was. It would’ve been nicer to be able to have two normal closets because my partner had to live from his suitcase for a week, and there is barely any space to lay a suitcase down flat. Again, this is perhaps related to the very odd shape of our room.

Only thing nice about the property was the design.

- Staff were not friendly and not helpful at all, especially the reception! Didn’t even give me half an hour after checkout time!! - Also upon checkout they tried to add extra charges to our room which we haven’t ordered.

Front desk staff were NOT friendly at all, upon checkout I believe the guy who came to check the minibar took an envelope of cash from the room, and when checking out they tried cheating me in the bill by adding extra food I haven’t ordered. Also the hotel valet was not part of the stay and had to pay extra per day.

Wardrobes .. 1/2 length , 1 small cupboard. No room for long dresses or enough for 2 people for a week.

We stayed at Ruins Luxury Resort Bodrum from July 15–17, and while the location and design aesthetic were truly stunning — reminiscent of a Moët & Chandon commercial set — the service and operational standards fell significantly short of what one would expect from a five-star property.

✦ Communication Issues There were no working phone lines in the room, which meant all communication had to go through guest relations via WhatsApp. While this might sound modern or efficient in theory, in practice it was frustrating. There were about 5-6 different ladies (working shifts) in the guest relations officer role during our short 2-night stay, which led to constant miscommunications and delays. We never knew who we were speaking to on the other side of the phone and a few times they forgot to address questions we asked or got back to us a day or two later, by that time we have already sorted out the issues ourselves- eg- booking a boat tour. ✦ Inadequate Room Amenities Our room lacked basic amenities: • There was no milk or creamer provided for the in-room coffee station. • We had to request milk 3–4 times, and it only arrived after I finally called the guest relations lady and complained. One morning, I requested housekeeping to deliver some milk just before we stepped out for sightseeing, and it was left sitting outside all day (when there’s a small bar fridge, I don’t know why they didn’t think of putting it in there) — by the time we returned that evening, it was spoiled. Then I had to go through that entire ordeal again to re-order some milk. ✦ Poor Bedding Quality The bedding in our room (#3006) was extremely uncomfortable: The pillows and sheets were made of 100% polyester, making them scratchy, noisy, and unpleasant to sleep on — it reminded me of the umbrella material.. completely unworthy of a luxury hotel. It makes a loud scratchy noise when we move around or roll. Additionally, the main door to our room #3006 was poorly fitted, hanging loosely from the frame and appearing as if it could break off if shut forcefully or tampered with. ✦ Overpriced and Underwhelming Dining We tried food at both the poolside lounge and Sips bar. Both times, the portions were disappointingly small, especially considering the price.

The hotel has a beautiful design and impressive architecture, which really adds to the overall atmosphere. Its location is also excellent, making it easy to explore the area and enjoy nearby attractions. However, when it comes to the services, I feel they don’t fully align with the expectations of a 5-star property and are closer to a 4-star standard. There were some details that were overlooked, which made the experience feel less premium. For instance, two bottles of water that were supposed to be complimentary on a daily basis were instead added to my final bill. Overall, while the hotel has many strengths, there is still room for improvement in service quality to match the 5-star rating.
