York Minster Garden

We loved the location , right in the heart of the city with all the cafes and restaurants and close to The Shambles and all the attractions of the beautiful York . The view of the York Minster from the Garden was stunning. The flat had all the amenities, and we particularly liked the vaulted ceiling in the kitchen living area .the fireplace and the Xmas lights gave it a cosy setting .

It could have been perfect if downstairs was not so cold .The electric heating system is a little dated, and the bedroom, hallway, and shower room felt cold .The electric heaters dont warm up enough the room, and we've ended up sleeping on the sofas upstairs as the fireplace was keeping upstairs warmer than anywhere else .I suggest a better heating system in the winter season as the temperature in york dropped to 1 degree while we stayed .

Heating was too low when we arrived

We loved the location, and we were really happy with the apartment. They had some fairy lights up, perfect as we were visiting the Christmas markets. You have everything you need. Kettle, toaster, and microwave worked perfectly. It was clean and tidy with a little gift of a locally sourced chocolate with the towels. Nice touch. You open the front door, which takes you down a passage way. Minster view is the first apartment door, with Minster garden further down the winding path, leading you to the back of the property for 2a's front door. The garden is gorgeous. You feel away from noise and the hustle and bustle, but open the front door, and you're only a few steps away from drinking in all the atmosphere and history that York has to offer. Best of both worlds. We would love to go back, but probably not in the winter!

The apartment is heated with storage heaters, but they really are not able to warm the property to a comfortable level. The shower took ages before I could safely use it as it went from freezing to boiling and back to freezing with tiny adjustments on the dial. The bed was fine for us, but if you are tall, you will have problems. The sofas are ok, but it would be nice to have something more comfortable.

Excellent location and great clean dog friendly accommodation. The only negative was I found it cold due to the type of building.

The bed was tiny, the footboard at the bottom made it near impossible to sleep.

Location! Location! Location! It is perfect for walking the best parts of York. It is a charming place with a private garden. Enjoyed it very much.

location was superb. upstairs living room/kitchen very well appointed.

only one complaint. the bed is too short!! I'm 5ft8 and had to try to sleep in a foetal position as I couldnt stretch my legs. My 5ft1 wife can attest that otherwise the bed is comfy.

It was so peaceful and private whilst being in the centre of everything. Beautiful garden to sit out in and very well equipped kitchen and bathroom with comfortable living area.

The mattress on the bed was too hard for my bad back and could do with a mattress topper. The wardrobe door didn't work too well, so I lived out of my suitcase. A couple who were staying in an adjacent property with their dog from Saturday through to Monday didn't clean up after their dog, which wasn't pleasant to find after they had left. The path to the property was a little overgrown in places, which made it a little difficult to wheel my suitcase through to the property.
