York Minster Garden

Loved the quiet location and the private garden. We enjoyed tea, scones and beverages among the lush garden.

No air conditioning was slightly difficult as it was a hot few days, but the management provided a fan and delivered a 2nd which was immensely appreciated.

Perfectly situated in the center of York I was there for a wedding and needed to be there for a few days

The decor was a bit tired

The location was brilliant. Really accommodating staff, decorated the property for a birthday. Upstairs area was cosy.

Bed wasn't comfortable, was also really short and looked a bit dated. Paint peeling off of walls in the hallway and bathroom. Bathroom could do with a bit of love.

The beautiful little cottage is very quaint and pretty. We loved the garden too. Excellent value for money. Extremely close to York minster and also to all the local amenities..was very quiet during the night allowing us to recharge.. Will definitely return.

You could sit in the private garden and see the Minster, well equipped kitchen. Jerry was very helpful and dealt with special requests for my autistic daughter. Minster garden is definitely autism friendly, the garden is an ideal place to regulate

Perfect location - central but tucked away and quiet (near the Minster but not near the bells - could hardly hear them). Character property with charming view of the Minster from the garden. Helpful and friendly hosts sorted out a couple of maintenance issues.

In April the nights were down to freezing and the bedroom was very cold even with heating. I imagine it is even worse in winter. Watch out for the bedroom window vent that was left open. Downstairs needs double glazing and thicker, lined curtains or a blind as well, closer to the window. I don't think the bedroom curtains were very light-proof either. There were no curtains at all in the lobby. Yet upstairs was too warm on a sunny April afternoon and not all windows could be opened. I expect it is very hot in summer even though there is a fan. There was no way to open the roof windows unless you had a long ladder. They looked as though water had got in between the double glazing layers, reducing the effectiveness at keeping heat in/out, so these windows might need replacing. Sofas were wide and low-backed - great for lying down but not very comfortable to sit on. Wicker chairs at table were low but this was remedied by sitting on extra cushions. Fridge location meant that opening its door was a little awkward, and the washing-up bowl was too small to fit a dinner plate! Others have mentioned the dated bathroom but to me that's less important than having a comfortable temperature and seating. I would love to stay again if those are improved.

Garden is lovely, great location, early check-in. Beams are nice

Shabby downstairs so disappointing first impression. Carpet needs big clean/ replacing. Bed is v short. Needs painting downstairs. Okay upstairs.
