Close enough to town centre but quiet! The views from our room (top floor) were amazing!! But the most special part was the host, he looked after ALL of our needs. He organised the safari trip, drove us to our next destination. Everything. The best.

Nothing. Be careful of eating in your room as there could be ants, but that’s anywhere in Sri Lanka.

Met de regen ‘s nachts stroomde de regen zo 1 slaapkamer (en dus ons bed in) en ook lekkages in woonkamer en badkamer. Eigenaar kwam wel meteen toen we hem belden, maar ja, ons bed was drijfnat. Bedrag wat op booking staat wat je moet betalen is lager dan wat je daadwerkelijk moet betalen, het scheelde wel €40! Je moet zelf vragen om schone handdoeken en dan krijg je er 2 (we waren met 4). Geen airconditioning, alleen ventilatoren. Ventilatoren maken wel herrie.

The location was fantastic. Split between hiriketiya and Dickwella beach.

The bather room is very wet. There is no slope that helps the water drain.

We loved our stay at Kumudu, it was the perfect size for our little family of four (2 small children). It was really nice to have a kitchen, the apartment is very luminous and has a beautiful view. We also really enjoyed watching the monkeys! The location is great, being on the hill between dickwella beach (swim) and Hirikiteya beach (surf and many restaurants), so both beaches being just a short walk away. We traveled with a pram and it’s super easy to walk around with it here, which was great! Gihan also helped us with transport, both last minute to the hospital as we had a little emergency and back to Colombo. Overall super helpful, we really liked it and would definitely come back!

House location is great, nicely designed and furnished. Monkeys in garden great. Housekeeper very warm and welcoming, manager responsive to concerns.

The electric shower is very dangerous and unsafe. Very almost caught fire/high risk of electrocution. Smoking +++ out of electrical socket located right near water source. Needs to be urgently replace. Reported to Manager and he says he has replaced. Lots of building work around house, so unfortunately not easy to relax in garden during daytime hours

Good location

We were looking for a/c room and this location came up. But the unit didn’t have a/c. Our room didn’t even have a window. The place was very hot. It’s also very dirty. Mold everywhere , insects and cigarette butts. Make sure to bring your beach towel. The ones provided are very small and old. They don’t hardly absorb any water. I would cook food for my dog in this kitchen.

We stayed 4 night at Kumudu. The room was big and clean, there is a kitchen corner where you can cook. 5min walking from the beach! We really enjoyed our stayed here. You can write Gihan with WhatsApp anytime, if you need help or a recommandation. He was especially nice to us, because he accepted to keep our big luggages 24h at his house after our checkout for free. We took a tea at his house when we came back, it was a beautifull moment of sharing. The family, who run the hotel, is so kind. Thank you for everything we won't forget you :)
