DEKein Internet? Okay. Kein Strom? Hm. Keine Heizung? Aha… Kein fließend Wasser und ein klassisches Plumpsklo in einem extra Gebäude? Spätestens hier sind viele Feriengäste wahrscheinlich raus und dennoch ist die Unterkunft quasi dauernd belegt und wird durchgehend top bewertet. Das Squealing Pig Bothy liegt zwar ab vom Schuss, aber der Anteil an Single Track Road ist überraschend kurz, der Empfang durch Gastgeberin Jackie gewohnt schottisch herzlich. Es ist alles vor Ort, was man wirklich braucht und vor allem: Ruhe. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Inseln Lewis und auch Harris sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar, bis in die Hauptstadt Stornoway braucht man ca: eine halbe Stunde. In rund 15 Minuten Entfernung liegen gut sortierte Community Shops, am Straßenrand finden sich zudem immer wieder Honesty Boxes mit hausgemachten Marmeladen, Keksen und Kuchen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Für uns als Festival- und.Camping-Erfahrene war es perfekt, durch bequeme Betten und eine saubere Toilette sogar deutlich besser als manche Erfahrung aus früheren Jahren 👍
