HOTEL BEACON ONOMICHI

Breakfast was ok. However, you had to book ahead for getting breakfast, which nobody told us.

Lack of communication and information. Room was ridiculously built: the sink was next to the bed, with the mirrors in sitting height. The high ceiling combined with windows (that didn’t open) mounted 2 m above the floor, made the room feel very odd. Moreover, the bathroom had a very moldy smell. In general, the climate inside the room was very uncomfortable, even though there was a humidifier as well as a climate control AC/heater.

Neat little room - tiny, but well appointed and efficient! Big step up from the genkan to the room. Not all rooms have this so be sure to check if you have accessability issues. It was very quiet since January is the off season. I was the only person in the restaurant at breakfast both days I was there.

This was the best accomodation we had for our entire 3 week trip! The room had an elevated tatami mat area with back rests and a view over the harbour which was so comfortable and perfect spot to relax. Bed was really big and comfy, and this is the only hotel where we had a walk in shower not in a bathtub. Perfect location as well - on top of the station but still quiet and easy walk to all the restaurants. Staff were all really friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location and great looking hotel; breakfast was lovely and all staff went above and beyond.

The room design was a little awkward with the basin out in the main room area and no mirror in the shower room. Noise from other guests carried a little also.

location is very close to Onomichi station. It is only 1 minute.

In front of washing basin is small size.

- Very central above the station. - Cean and well appointed.

- The room was very small, so small in fact the suitcases had to live next to the door preventing the door from opening properly. - We had booked for 2 nights on 2 separate bookings. Due to this the staff were insistent on us checking out before 10am and then checking in again at 2pm to collect another key. This is despite keeping the same room. This made no sense. - Quite expensive.
