"A home away from home"

9.0

Pros: -The cottage had all the essentials we needed. -Upon arrival, there is a guest book, which is filled with nothing but lovely comments from people as far as Scotland! There's also a folder full of information about the village with tourist leaflets of nearby attractions and also takeaway menus. -The hosts are very helpful and checked up on us after a power cut we had during the night that we didn't know happened. -We arrived to a basket of treats and a tub of dog treats for our fur babies -The logo burner was lovely and so relaxing. Thanks for the logs. -The view of the church tower from the window, especially when it was all lit up. -The beds are very comfortable clean and lovely presented, the pillows are amazing and your head just sinks into them. The quilt/duvet was warm and good quality but was to heavy for me (I prefer a light blanket) -The shower was lovely, powerful and hot. -There is a morrisons daily, a few steps down the road which was very useful and very reasonably priced. -We had a walk to the local chippy "The Frying Farmer" and ordered 2 Fish and chips to takeaway... WOW, it was delicious. -The village appears secluded and is very historic. Its so quiet and surrounded by farmland. The locals are lovely and very welcoming with a lot of dog walkers about. We visited the Churchyard and the oldest gravestone was from 1768!!🤯 -There's a bus that runs through the village. Unsure on routes etc but nice for days out. -There are some lovely trails for dog walking surrounding the village. We departed on one but due to the weather, we had to turn back because of how soft the mud was🙃🤣 Thankyou to Rich and Maxine for a lovely weekend😊

Cons: -Although the cottage is dog friendly, we had to be very mindful with the front door as it opened right into a road. Although the road wasnt to busy, some cars flew past at some speed. (Absolutely no fault to the owners for this!) -We couldn't get used to people walking past the living room window. (Again, no fault to the owners) -Due to the weather and time of year, we didn't get to use the garden as much as we'd of liked. -Either the walls are thin or the neighbours were loud because at times we could hear them talking or we could hear their tv but this didn't effect our little trip in anyway. -The backgarden is accessible from the neighbours garden. Our guess was, its so they could access the garages. Nobody used it while we stayed (so again, not really a con... just a moan🤣)

"A lovely family weekend away in a lovely home."

10.0

This is a beautiful home laid out so well by the hosts. The little hamper was a lovely touch, as was the bags of sweets for my children. The girls also loved the ‘secret’ room upstairs. This is the 2nd time we have been here and will be sure to use it again.

"We will definitely be back"

10.0

The property is so clean but it also has so much character with a very pretty garden. It is a very comfortable stay and has everything you need. Very conveniently there is a shop very close by if you forget toothpaste like I did. The attention to detail and host couldn’t have been better and we will definitely return
