Loved the place. And very friendly and helpful owners . The private back yard also a bonus. Will return when the opportunity arrises. We'd give it 11 out of 10 if we could.

It was well situated with a short walk into Sidmouth. The property was well equipped and extremely clean. There was a nice private small garden at the back.

"Simply a Lovely comfortable Christmas break"

Lovely private 2 bed cottage - all the facilities required and lovely little touches in the property - comfortable beds and light and spacious kitchen/diner area - only 20 min walk from the coast which suited us for some exercise each day.

Nothing really - possibly another toilet might have been ideal for 4 adults ?

"A wonderful find!"

My mum and I spent three nights at Sampson in Sidmouth and had an absolutely wonderful time. The cottage was easy to find, spotless on arrival, and felt instantly welcoming. It’s exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering break — from kitchen essentials to thoughtful touches throughout the property. The beds were very comfortable, and despite the rain that lasted the entire trip, the cottage stayed warm and cosy, making it a lovely place to relax. The weather certainly didn’t dampen our enjoyment! A special mention must go to the owner, Chris. He greeted us warmly on arrival, offered helpful local advice, and even popped back in to say goodbye at the end of our stay. His friendly manner and attention to detail really made the experience feel first class. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning to Sampson Cottage!

"Fabulous hosts welcomed us, cream tea provided made it personal. Short walk to town and beach. Loved this place."

Lovely atmosphere, very clean and everything you would need. The parking area was very secure. Private court yard was a fabulous and ideal for the dog. It provided everything that made our stay perfect.

"Excellent, with thoughtfully laid out accommodation"

The property had everything we needed, with lots of modern touches (such as speakers in the bathroom) combined with good facilities. The location was nice and quiet too. The owners Chris and Ellen also had left us a lovely cream tea to have on arrival.
