"Great location but disappointing sleep comfort spoilt overall holiday experience"

1. Location is 15 mins walk to town and beach, close to many amenities. 2. Property was clean. 3. Property was well equipped.

1. Main bedroom is directly above the garage door which makes a loud machine whirring sound when it opens and shuts. During my stay, this door was repeatedly opened and closed between 6-9am most mornings by other residents which disrupted my sleep. Having on-site parking was a convenient feature of this property, but unfortunately with this flat being on the ground floor directly above garage door, this was a problem. 2. Main bed mattress was of poor quality, it was hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. 3. Main bedroom wall adjacent to next door flat is very thin. A group of young guys playing music and making noise at 1am could be easily heard, which disrupted my sleep. Although not in owner’s control, I have to mention this as a fact which ruined my stay. Perhaps as a building, the owners could be more strict on respecting other guests quiet time. 4. Twin bedroom had a musty smell. 5. Towel rails didn’t switch on.

The fact you have the whole flat for the price paid on a weekend is really good. The flat itself is nice and big and appears recently refurbished in the kitchens and bathrooms. It generally has everything you need and the location, although it feels remote, the moment you Google map 'walking', and you are close to the beach and shops. Nearby is a Tesco about a 5-10 minute walk along with lots of shops. The garage/parking and lift access is also beneficial. You can fit large 4x4 and SUVs easily into the space. The bedding was clean and there was complimentary shower/shampoo, toilet rolls, kitchen utensils etc etc. The owner is really nice and was very attentive when contacted. We would stay again.

We really liked the flat and would stay again. There was unfortunately a bit of a musky, my wife felt, smokey, smell in the front room. After speaking with the owner, this may have been a previous guest smoking out the balcony or another tenant, which was unfortunate but is the main reason for the reduced score. There's no smoking signs outside and in the flat, the property itself is on the ground floor next to the main entrance, altogether it's quiet and we weren't disturbed, but the smoking cig bin is opposite the front door of the flats, next to the rear bedroom windows. Maybe the owner can get it moved to another location as that's probably the route cause.
