Boscastle Quaint Cornish Fishermans Cottage

Lovely cottage, beautifully presented and well equipped too. Scones, jam and cream left for me was an unexpected surprise. Logs and starter logs were welcome. The little courtyard was great for the dog (weather was too wet to explore the 'secret garden'). Flagstone & tiled floors are great to keep clean from muddy paws. The pub over the road was welcoming with excellent food, not noisy either. There's a little convenience store just down the road and a doctors surgery too but hopefully that wouldn't be required! There is a steep path to walk down to the harbour. Would definitely stay again

What I didn't like. The sofa is hard I had to sit on a cushion. Car parking is a bonus in Cornwall but it was a bit muddy due to rain. The bathroom was a bit too cold for me (but I didn't try the fan heater) and I couldn't face the shower with mixer taps and the curtain on a ring but I could have had a bath. I had enough logs for one wet December evening but not two. Banging my head on the beam over the stairs and next to the toilet. Wouldn't recommend this place for tall people (I'm 5ft 4") unless they bend well on the stairs.

Cosy, clean, comfortable. Loved the location, the pub opposite was really friendly and really good value for money. It was a perfect get away.

Nothing to dislike it was perfect

Ein sehr schönes altes Haus, wie man das aus Filmen von Cornwall kennt. Rüme sind groß, der geheime Garten war auch mal was anderes. Gegenüber war gleich ein Pub, wo es abends schöne Live Musik gibt.

It was cosy and clean, the beds were very comfortable and some scones were left for us which was very nice. Shower gels and shampoo were left for us also.

The ceiling was quite low in places (namely the bathroom), and the hot water didn’t work properly. There may have been an air lock in the immersion heater as it kept turning off and on, making showering very difficult.

The cottage is close to a very pretty village with many amenities. The building is old and as such is very quaint with several heritage features.

We were concerned about possible non-compliance with October 23 fire regulations for holiday lets. This property seems to have insufficient interlinked smoke/heat alarms and we did not see emergency exit standby lighting. Additionally, we felt hat the sleeping arrangement in the 2nd bedroom posed a substantial risk as with the door closed and the trundle extended the only means of escape was blocked as the door could not be opened by children, elderly or infirm occupants. The photographs did not adequately show or inform of this hazard.
