The service provided from Hasan, Jamal, Emanuel,Musa, the whole kitchen and housekeeping staff was exceptionally good! It really is like heaven on earth and a paradise for your soul. You are far away from big tourist spots and therefore you are able to experience a unique stay. The food is amazing and they try to fulfill every wish you have. All in all this is a place where you can recharge your batteries habe the best time of your life!

Friendly & cool staffs. We really can’t forget the memories with our friends Jimmy, Musa, Omar & Hassan. Miss them already! All the food was amazing. Special thanks to the chefs. We’ve enjoyed the snorkeling as well. The resort was kinda blocked from the outside so it gave us a feeling of complete rest. And we liked all the details of facilities.

We had a memorable stay.The Jua retreat staff is hospitable. The chef and the rest of the kitchen crew made the best meals! The room was spacious, private with a natural fence with beautiful flowers,the bed was huge! The view is incredible.We really felt relaxed and cared for.

Jua is not an ordinary, though charming resort. It is more and far better described as an amazing experience for your senses! The views, the position, the sounds, the food, the ladies and gentlemen who take good care of all your needs! Everything is just wonderful and a true immersion in nature! The ultimate barefoot luxury experience with fabulous food, excellent service and the feeling of being on a deserted island!! Jua and its people will remain in our hearts and a piece of our hearts will remain at Jua!! Thanks for a great holiday!

Payment of extra activities is a bit weird and should be smoothed in order to have a more relaxing check-out.

There is nothing we didn’t like.

The villas are very spacious and has everything you will need and more for a comfortable stay. We never had any issue at all. We loved that it is very traditional and open yet still offers high level of privacy. I was a bit worried about the open bathroom initially, but this was a non-issue. The bed was the biggest bed we’ve ever seen but also very cozy and comfortable. We loved the small pool in the villa terrace and the beds/loungers just outside the villa where you can just laze the day away or just stargaze at night. The villas were also cleaned daily and there is also a turndown service at night. The staff were very helpful and friendly - not in an intrusive way but in a very discreet, polite manner. The big common pool was also amazing, we spent a lot of time here to just chill and enjoy. The beach/sea was also fantastic - it’s not really a beach where you get a wide sandy beach - but in that way it is unique - we loved both when it’s high and low tide and the transition in between. When it’s high tide, the views from the villas or from the restaurant is amazing and the sounds of the waves are soothing, but when it’s low tide then you can go for a walk, see birds, and just explore that stretch of the coastline. In between the high tide and low tide when the water is not too high and just starting to recede, you can just sit by the sea and enjoy the views which are magnificent. Food as well is amazing. We were not served anything that we did not like and the portions were big enough. The all inclusive package was well worth the price - you get any food or drink you wish for, anywhere in the property (or even outside as we went for a tour very early morning and requested for our breakfast to be packed and the staff very happily obliged) and at any time of day. There is a lounge area in the restaurant hut where it is also very nice to relax and drink wine and read a book.

Nothing we did not like but just more of a comment on food - it would be amazing to incorporate more of the local food in the daily menus. During our 4 nights stay, there was only 1 night that was “Swahili night”, and being the Swahili night we were excited to try the local food and we thought it would be more special or there will be more preparation in some way to showcase the local food, however we were served an underwhelming sharing platter. On all other days and nights the food was amazing especially the salads. Not much seafood options also although being in an island you would expect that seafood would be the superstar of the menu.

We had a nice stay at Jua Retreat. The staff was great, the food delicious, the location is quite unique. If you’re a nature lover you’ll most probably enjoy your time there. It’s a very peaceful environment.

The location is very remote, about 2h drive from the airport and there is about 10 mins drive before arriving with no road and it can be a bit of a bumpy ride. Also quite difficult to travel around on your own if you want to - you’ll definitely need a taxi for pick up. We were a bit unfortunate during our stay as there was construction at a neighboring hotel and it lasted a whole night until early morning. The noise was even worse because the rooms do not have any windows so we couldn’t sleep at all on our first night. However, the hotel owner and the staff were helpful and apologetic the next - they even compensated us for this.

Staff - Hassan, Musa, Emmanuel & Jamal were amazing hosts. Always made our stay there very comfortable with lovely stories. They tought my partner Swahili which was quite funny. They are very helpful already ready to help when called upon, and honored all of our wishes. Mr.Hassan organized a few surprises for me together with my partner which were executed to perfection! Food - The food at Jua is amazing, very exquisitely presented and served professionally. The menu is simple and not too crowded making it easy to make decisions on meals. They serve a proper 3 course meal at dinner and we literally loved and tried every single item on the menu the days we were there. Even their cutlery is elaborate and cute. Views - FANTASTIC. Location - Jua is not a busy hotel, it's very very intimate and offers access to a mostly private beach with very few tourists activities. Which is great if you want a true private retreat experience. Thanks for the lovely stay! Definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!
