SILVER RAIL

The room was spacious and incredibly clean, the hosts greeted us when we arrived asking if we would like tea and biscuits brought up to our room and is within a 20 min walk of the Galle Fortress as well as the bus/train station.

A perfect stay in Galle! Silver Rail is a superb home stay - huge room, very clean and with a gorgeous big balcony overlooking lots of greenery! Our host family were so kind and attentive, even providing tea and hoppers for breakfast in the morning! We only stayed one night but had a lovely time here and it was incredible value for money. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Galle!

Our stay was great. The family running it is wonderful! They invited us to be part of their Sinhalese New Year celebrations. Their daughter are so sweet. Their breakfast is delicious!

The communication from Silver Rail was excellent and when we arrived we knew we had made a good choice. The hosts are so warm, friendly and kind and we immediately decided to stay an additional night. The room was exceptional and the bed is so comfortable with new sheets and pillows. The ceiling and ground fans helped to keep the room at a nice temperature but it was also so pleasant to sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by. The shower has a heater so hot or cold water is available and the bathroom is a very good size. Plenty of plug sockets around to charge your electronics and a lovely side light by the bed is a nice touch. Silver Rail is adjacent to the Train line but we found it fascinating to watch people commuting up and down the line. We had a very good sleep for both our nights. There were chairs, a table and some stools and we were offered a pot of tea which was very welcoming. All in all this is a wonderful accommodation hosted by some truly lovely people. We are so glad we stayed here and were made to feel at home straight away. Thank you and we hope to stay again if we ever return to Galle. We wish you only kindness for your future plans and success

Clean and big room. Very kind and smily family. We recommend you have a breakfast - eating traditional srilankas breakfast with view to train and running chipmunks on the trees. Lovely place, thank you
