The Retreat

Hosts were extremely welcoming and kind and were ready to meet any of our needs, the location was beautiful and relaxing with a lovely garden and well equipped kitchen. The swimming pool was alot of fun just needed a little extra privacy. Overall would definitely recommend a visit.

There were two very good footpaths not far from the property. It was quiet. Outside there was a table in the garden where I was able to eat my evening meal. I would like to have talked at greater length to one of the owners.

A drying rack for plates and cutlery would have been useful. Leaving the property onto the main road was a little alarming - some people drove through Long Row at stupid speeds. If you set out for a walk before 8am, care is needed to stay clear of 'work' traffic.

The location was so pretty and the building was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and polite.

The tv is a smart tv....no normal channels. So if your of an age were you dont have a Netflix account you wont be watching anything. The room itself Was very dusty, smelt of damp. I only booked this property as it states you have a private pool, But the Swimming pool was not clean at all....I never went in. Bed sheets were patterned and had a horrendous black lace all the way round. It could have been cleaned and decorated to a better standard . Rug in the bedroom was dirty. Felt dusty and was an uncomfortable 4 night stay. I will not be staying again. Really sorry.

Couldn’t find it for 2 hours and bed was completely unsuitable

The host was nice.

I was really quite disappointed. Was booked for a birthday get away for 2 nights but left after 1 night. The cooking facilities weren't great, could easily fit an oven in the kitchen. There were barely any utensils, pots and pans - 1 of each and random sizes. No coffee provided. We were left with a quarter toilet roll with no spare anywhere. The 2 towels we were provided were poor. The whole place was tired, unloved and dirty. A little bit of effort would make a difference.
