Manager is not only rude but an extortionist. She refused to honor my booking.comprise and demanded $10 more than my booking. You cannot leave the property, or enter it, without a staff member. They lock you inside.

Felt very welcomed by the staff. Brian was so helpful and actively keeping the place clean. Brenda took us out to sample the local nightlife which was great fun! Great local guides. Double beds in the shared dorm were a bonus.

Only one bathroom.

One bathroom for the whole hostel in the same room as the shower.

The property is going through renovation may be better in future

They try to rip you off. They will say I don’t have change will pay you tomorrow. Tomoro they will say it’s paid. In my case they said they can show me in the camera. I went with the flow they check wasted my time and found nothing. I booked in booking.com one night. I wanted to extend now they say the rate is 10$ whereas booking.com including taxes is 8.3$. Then I booked in booking.com for 2 days and changed my booking to one night. Booking.com confirmed and no cancellation fees. But they are not agreeing for that. I am showing booking.com email. Finally with lot of time they honoured. In fact I payed $10 in spite they owed me money from previous night. The communication is worst. And then I moved to another hostel for few days. Go to any other hostels other than this for peace of mind and enjoyable travel

AC was great, plenty of hot water. Walter was extremely helpful in facilitating trip to Santa Ana volcano and Tazumal arqueológical site. Breakfast was ok, not great, but good coffee. Very close to Cathedral Plaza Libertad. Excellent choice for staying in Santa Ana.

Very disappointed with this hostel, i stayed 1 night, I didn't expect all the good reviews they had on booking.com but they changed owner not longtime ago, i m warning tourists to avoid this place because you have to pay everything, for exemple to use the fridge it's $2 to use the kitchen it's $5 a day, to dry your clothes it's $5 too, anything that doesn't correspond to a hostel, sorry to say that but its for pigeons tourists, no humains hostels.... Zero atmosphere, we don't feel comfortable, always the guy from the reception look what are you doing... The hostel everything is turned off, it's very small, there is only one bathroom-toilet in the establishment. I was in the dormitory with 5 others tourists who were with me were extremely disappointed, no locker that closes, window that doesn't close and no mosquito net. The person at the reception doesn't speak English, we can't come in like that, we have to ring the doors,no keys. I ve done a lot of hostels on all continents, sorry bit I know that this hostel will not last long, one advice for the owner change lot of things because there are many great hostels in Santa Ana.

Good location. Not many people so had the dorm to myself pretty much. Good price. Spacious beds with power outlet. Towel was included.

Only 1 bathroom and shower. Only 1 fan in the dorm. No encapsulation for the beds. Also its always locked so had to ring the bell and wait to get in, everytime.

Room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. The entire hostel was very clean and managed by Walter, a lovely and very polite young man. Breakfast was included: two fried eggs with cheese, avocado and bread. Shower was hot. Hostel is 5 minutes from the catedral. Price was great at $21 per night.

The boss lady is a swindler and a bit of a liar who tried to charge us more for every little thing. Neither of us drink coffee, which is included in the breakfast and she wanted to charge us $1 to change that to a juice or $1 for a tea so we asked for water instead and she only brought us one glass of unfiltered tap water between the two of us! We wanted to stay a second night and when we asked at reception she told us that the room we were already in wasn't available that night and the only available room was the deluxe room. She then told us that the deluxe room normally costs $50 per night but it was on offer for $35. We politely declined as that's quite expensive, then went back to our room and looked on booking.com where it was available for $21 so we stayed another night and saw that evening that this room we'd stayed in was empty!!! Do not trust this woman, nothing she says makes any sense and do everything via booking.com so you have an audit trail.
