Because I’m a cleaner I thought the shower screen and the sink needed a better clean and the skirting boards too

Beautiful petite cosy cottage - well equipped and comfortable

I was unable to get into the property as the key code didn’t work. I contacted the owner over booking.com, phoned they over 10 times and left a voicemail. No one answered or got back to me. We then had to pay for a taxi to take us somewhere else and pay for other accommodation.

The location was fantastic, everything we needed on the doorstep. The pub literally 4 doors down the Commercial Inn was lovely and cosy and very festive! We had lunch at the Bulls Head up the road on the first day and also a few drinks in the Victoria up the road, all lovely pubs. We walked into down and had a Birthday dinner for my husband at Napoli which was a lovely traditional Italian. The information booklet in the cottage was excellent. My only minor comment and this is not a criticism, but as it was still the festive period, a small tree or a few lights etc would have been a lovely touch in the cottage as everywhere else was so festive and lit up. All in all it was an excellent stay and I would recommend highly :-)

Stayed over Christmas this year and last year improvements have taken the cottage up with addition of bigger fridge new settee and bathroom cabinet Nice and handy for Glossop shop over the road for little bits chippy and pub also on doorstep
