Heritage Rangiri Villa

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet but the most important thing about this place is that there is zero natural light coming into the rooms. I thought from the photos that there would be at least some but the windows are so small and made from that crystal kind of glass so the room is fully dark even in daytime. If you're comfortable with that then it's a nice value place right next to the golden temple. Sarath was nice and responsive, flexible about my late arrival time, and drove me to the bus stand in his tuk tuk when I was leaving at a price marginally cheaper than Pickme offers. I heard from other guests he also does tours and they appreciated him greatly as a guide.

No towel or even a mini soap were in the room upon arrival, and I can't understand a hospitality venue that doesn't provide these absolute basics. The natural light issue as i outlined above. Food was whatever - hoppers, an egg, bananas, and tea - standard for a free breakfast. A bunch of monkeys came in and ransacked the place right after I was done eating, I thank them for patiently waiting.

Dambulla worth only one night to visit tbh. We booked 2 nights but only stayed one as we have nothing to do after visiting the rock. The hotel doesn’t have WiFi, and there was a huge argument between the landlord and other guests. We didn’t know what happened, but there were police got involved. So in this case, we felt uncomfortable staying there.

I had a great stay! The host was exceptionally friendly, communicative, and always willing to help. He even assisted me with figuring out which bus to take for the next part of my journey, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was tasty and generous. The accommodation itself was pleasant and comfortable, and it also had air conditioning, which was a big plus. I definitely recommend staying here!

Water barely worked had to wash hands with drinking water. Dirty sheets

Nice room with good Air conditioning. Very quiet area so it's very peaceful. Owner very friendly and disponible to assist his customers needs.

Better cleaning needed. Change of bedsheets needed during the stay. New set of towels should be provided every 2 days during the stay.

Amazing place and the hospitality was the best we have had so far. Sarath is a fantastic host!

Everything was perfect, Sarath helped us to organise our stay in Dambulla and helped us to take the bus for our last day. The room is clean and comfortable, breakfast was really good too. I recommend, thanks !

Access to the upper floor for disable guests.

Good property. Big rooms. Good location to visit the temple in the rock - 10 minute walking distance. Good breakfast provided. A simple place and you get what you pay for.

I visited during May 2025 and there was on going construction which made it very noisy. Broken toilet. Wifi not working. Unfortunately didn’t see the owner during my stay apart from at breakfast.
