Heritage Rangiri Villa

Not much, location close to temple which is convenient. And hot water. Owner who gave us some tips about buses.

Unfortunately overall I think the pictures and description are unrealistic. I do believe it used to be a nice guesthouse few years ago but not anymore. Now it is more an abandoned place that is full of mould. Sri Lanka is very humid so we understand some mould but this was really too much and it smelled of mould really badly. It needs some work and reparations. We also didn’t have a key to lock our room and the window at the bathroom leading to outside was impossible to close in one of the room. The owner apologised for visiting his wife in the hospital due to an accident from few days ago. Which we are sorry about and hope she recovers soon. But still it was not what we booked. We were let in by owner’s friend. We stayed and paid but it was so far the worse experience on the island.

I stayed for three nights and had an amazing experience. Sarath, the owner, is incredibly friendly, kind, and will do everything to make sure you have what you need. On top of that, he's an amazing cook! The place is clean, and welcoming, and the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended! 😁🙏🏽

Very helpful owner, comfortable room, tasty breakfast.

The Temple entrance is close but the entrance where you buy tickets is actually on the other side. So better to take tuktuk there and you finish your temple tour at the entrance that is closer.

Location, room, breakfast and the host are amazing!

The host was very helpful & friendly. We had previously stayed at their hotel in Anuradhapura where we were very well looked after so wanted to continue our stay with them. Breakfast was home cooked & delicious! We had a lovely chat with the host whilst we ate. Slept very well, the bed was comfortable.

Location is slightly far out of the main town but close to Dambulla cave temples & onward bus stops to Kandy.

The breakfast which is included was excellent. Nearby, there is an spectacular temple you can not miss.

It was an incredible experience to stay there. The host is very friendly, nice, kind and interesting man, who is very well educated, has few university degrees, very intelligent man! The dinner and breakfast were great! The real Sri Lankan taste! There also were travelers from Italy and we had meal together, had very interesting conversations, shared experiences! Absolutely must be done in Sri Lanka!

Dambulla is a very humid place, so it was very damp in the room and didn't smell well. But either than that it worth the experience 100%. Just be ready-it's not the way we used to live in Europe.
